RIP to a national patriot and hero.
The failed assassins of Truman were heroes and mentors to the FALN terrorists whom Clinton pardoned.
I guess Clinton was not a Truman fan.
Truman was a great Democrat in as much as he knew the way to stop the Japanese was to nuke em.
His response to the Korean debacle, though, was less than inspiring......
“Truman was a great Democrat...”
After a while. When he left office, his approval rating was 23%.
Now he is considered a God.
IMHO, his response to Korea was more driven by his response to McArthur’s arrogant defiance of presidential orders.
I read the complete story some years ago.The guy was a true hero, but Truman was never in any danger. He was on the second floor and there were two more agents with Thompsons at the top of the stairs.
The guy was a true hero, but Truman was never in any danger.
Truman was the best Democrat POTUS in the 20th century. Not only did he nuke Japan to end WWII, he also prevented the Soviets from taking over the rest of Europe in 1948. His handling of the Berlin crisis was wonderful. Truman was not an appeaser like today’s Democrats.
The Soviet sympathizers in our State Department and the British Foreign Office made Korea a quagmire for Truman.
William Manchester’s biography on MacArthur
(American Caesar) describes their treasonous activities. Joseph McCarthy was right.
