Willie Has 9/11 Conspiracies on His Mind
(Feb. 5) - Country music legend Willie Nelson compared the collapse of the World Trade Center to the controlled implosions of casinos in Las Vegas while on nationally syndicated radio this week.
While speaking on Alex Jones' Texas-based talk show, a favorite among conspiracy theorists, the "On the Road Again" warbler made it clear he was skeptical of the official account of the events on Sept. 11. "I saw those towers fall and I've seen an implosion in Las Vegas," he said. "There was too much similarity between the two. And I saw a building fall that didn't get hit by nothing." Audio From Stereogum.com:
"The day it happened, I saw one fall and it was just so symmetrical," Nelson said on the show. "I said, 'Wait a minute, I just saw that last week at the casino in Las Vegas', and you see these implosions all the time, and the next one fell and I said, 'Hell, there's another one.' They're trying to tell me that an airplane did it and I can't go along with that."
Known for his quivering voice, red-haired braids and songs like "Always on My Mind" and "Crazy," Nelson has never shied away from speaking out on numerous hot button issues, including the Iraq War, marijuana legalization and gay rights. In recent years he has campaigned for Dennis Kucinich's presidential bid and for fellow country singer Kinky Friedman's failed attempt for Texas governor in 2006.
"Two and a Half Men" actor Charlie Sheen made headlines on the same radio show in March, 2006 when he too aired his doubts about Sept. 11.
"It seems to me like 19 amateurs with box cutters taking over four commercial airliners and hitting 75 percent of their targets: that feels like a conspiracy theory," Sheen told Jones.
reefer madness??
Pot is viewed as harmless but actually leads to a pagan (many idols & gods) world of illusion. Many 911 truthers are pot heads
‘Nuff said
This is the same guy that went on the Carson show to brag that he went up to the roof of the White House and smoked dope.
I’d be high on the amazing things you could see there, and this guy used the place to get stoned.
Well Willie, I guess you’re seeing lots of things a good many of us don’t, including the Martin Scheen goblin group think on national security matters.
Nelson & O’Donnell, LLC, Structural Engineers
Maybe he could sing for Rosie.
reefer madness!
I used to like Willie Nelson.
Good music....but loony politics.
Put the bong down, Willie...
(PRSD) Post Reefer Stress Disorder.
The article should have started “Noted structural engineer and materials scientist Willie Nelson...” From the tone of the article, one would assume that Willie Nelson was just a singer, because it ignores his extensive body of work and significant contributions to the fields of engineering and architecture.
These morons expected to see the towers fall like a tree. Where did they think the lateral strength to accelerate millions of tons sideways was going to come from? There is nothing to push off of, so gravity is going to bring that weight straight down.
yeah I like how twofers always say...well it came down just like a controlled explosion....well no shit maybe they look exactly same. Alex jones brings out the best in them lol
I checked my dictionary forthe meaning of “dumbass” and Wilie’s picture was there!
Willie’s brain was fried many decades ago.
One too many reefers.
These people are idiots.
We didn’t need the towers to come down to go after AlQaida and Bin Laden.
The fact that they killed people by ATTACKING US by slamming two planes into the towers, 1 plane into the Pentagon and caused the death of yet another plane load of people would have been more than enough reason to do so.
We didn’t need MORE DEATHS to come to that conclusion and would have preferred that it didn’t happen.
Total nuts!
Has anyone considered that buildings might be built with self-distruck features in case of irrepairable damge, (storm, erthquake) should occur in a very congested area? To prevent more widescale damage?
Willie’s extensive ad hoc pharmacological research has obviously taken its toll...
