THANK YOU FRED. Thank you for giving us hope that somewhere in the ranks of the GOP that there are still a few thoroughbred Republicans left. Having you in the White House would of been like having Davy Crockett back in Washington. You are a no-nonsense leader who doesn’t wait for pollsters but follows the maxim: “Be sure you are right and then go ahead”.” God-Speed my friend and it was an honor to be a part of the Vets For Fred.

Yes, except that Crockett didn't walk away from the Alamo.
I regarded Fred as a leader and a conservative hero, and I was looking forward to voting for him. I probably will vote for him but now it's just a hollow protest. Leaders and heroes don't retreat or surrender when the going gets tough.
