I don't understand the gloom-and-doom here.

Agreed I think it will be a lot of fun watching McLame get his A== kicked, just wish there was a way to Bob Dole him and get him to resign his senate seat.

Remember I spoke of "true Conservatives." Many people call themselves Conservatives, but for many of them that means "Conservative to the extent that still allows a non-Conservative Republican to win."

The people here are "true Conservatives." Many others are the lesser/phony type of Conservative. Many are Republican first, Conservative second. That's just a sad fact.

“Sorry, I don’t vote for liberals, even if they have a (R) after their name. Opposing liberals, statists and aministiadores as a Conservative is not “infighting”.
Infighting is denying conservatives debate access and media coverage in the elementary stages of the pre-primary and early primary period. THAT is infighting.”

Damn right. I am a small government, low tax, USA first conservative. I will never vote for John McCain. He has slapped conservatives like me in the face for 20 years. I will do everything in my power to see that he loses. Count on it.

“Cause we’ll jump into disaster with the Dems pulling out of Iraq and coronating Iran to the new nuclear regional power.”

Republicans sowed the wind and will reap the whirlwind by picking a liberal like McCain.

If I have to, I’ll vote for the SOB.
For the sole reason that Hilda-bama will get us nuked by islamo facists.

I will not put politics ahead of national security.

Democrats do that.

This is the one of the worst election cycles I have ever experienced.

My first vote was cast to re-elect Ronald Reagan.
My God how far we have come.

I heard a BBC World News report last night about the election. They started out the report about McCain with the comment that he was 71 years old. Obviously, the Europeans look upon his age as a major issue. The MSM hasn’t even mentioned this in the coverage of him. The BBC reporter also asked McCain about how his foreign policy would differ from Bush’s foreign policy. He emphasized that he would take a much different stance on the environment and global warming than Bush has. Think of this, people. McCain sucking up to the Europeans and the United Nations on climate change

We need to change our primary system.

I agree. We shouldn't start in liberal states, nor should we allow open primaries in any state.

Remember Hillary collecting FBI files? Eight hundred or so, mostly Republican? Do you suppose one of them might have been John McCain’s? I’ll bet the photocopy machines in the living quarters of the White House were running so long and hard they were smoking. I’ll bet Hillary has a thick file of dirt on McCrazy that she’s just itching to use. Count on it.

Too bad we can’t designate a federal primary day for federal elections.

I agree six months before Election Day there should be Primary Day, then let the battle begin! :-)

"Conservatives PIDDLED THEIR POWER AWAY voting Fred, ..."

If you're talking about THIS conservative, my state is not a Super Tuesday state. Our ballots aren't counted until Feb. 19th.

I'm Fred in the primaries, and I'm hold-my-nose-and-vote-for-the-nominee in the general.

McCain is getting this nomination by default.

It’s not as if he had any real competition. None of the other candidates were compelling enough, so in the end, people vote for the devil they know.

We need to change our primary system.

I favor of having all primaries and caucuses on the same day. I don't use the term "national primary," because that sounds like it eliminates the States in the nomination process (like abolishing the Electoral College would in electing the President).

If it's permissible under the First Amendment, I would ban polls. The voters should not be manipulated by polls that are portrayed as the Word of God, or by who other States have selected.

“And after 4 years this country will be in the same mess it was after 4 years of Carter.”

Not quite, because it is not 1976 anymore. In fact after 4 more yrs of Carter-esq leadership we will be that much further along in the development of the Mad Mullah’s plans which began in ernest when Carter let Tehran fall. I'll tell you right now I don't think we have 4 more years before the true horror of their madness is brought home to us.

“Frankly...I’ve had it...and I’m not going to take it anymore.”

What we ought to do now is start figuring out how we are going to go about shutting that southern border whether the elites in Washington like it or not. If we love our country then presumably we will at some point begin to take matters in to hand. I am losing faith in the elites commitment to the Constitution and the rule of Law.
