Absentee balloting used to be for shut-ins and travelers and the military; about ten years ago, it started getting snob appeal, so I would expect absentee ballots to break for the more liberal candidates.

On the contrary, the majority of absentees in CA are more conservative. Those working, I imagine.

Yeah, since the dot.com explosion in Silicon Valley, we have the West Coast version of the NY Penthouse Class that doesn't have to rub elbows with the riff-raff on the streets.
