The killer of five women at a Lane Bryant store in Tinley Park made sexual advances on at least one of the victims before the slayings and may have targeted a women's shop to avoid confrontation with men, a source said Monday.
The gunman entered the store after 10 a.m. Saturday and chatted briefly with some of the victims before announcing a holdup, and may have initially feigned that he was making a delivery, sources said.
He then took the women to a back room and bound them with duct tape he had brought with him, a law-enforcement source said. He said that before the shooting began, the man made advances toward one or more of the women.

It was a TSA person talking about them relaxing the rules. I’ll have to check with him when I get the chance, thanks for the link
Here is something I don’t understand. There were 5 or 6 women. Why did they let him tie them all up? Yes, I know he had a gun, but I think I would rather go down fighting than let someone tie me up and then be able to whatever he wanted.
I don’t know. Maybe they were paralyzed with fear. I think that happens to people, especially women. I’m not saying I would do any different, because I don’t know if anyone really knows what they would do until they were in this kind of situation. I just hope that I would risk ding on the spot rather than become a helpless victim of who-knows-what. That would also give the others a chance to jump the guy or maybe run away.
Oops, I meant “dying on the spot”.
Yeah, I had to reduce the number. My pants kept trying to fall down.
I just looked further down the website ... the regulations on tools have been made significantly less onerous since I last checked. Just about any tool (except a knife) less than seven inches length is now permitted.
Bring a small pair of dykes to cut the tie-wraps on your luggage.
Fear in a stressful situation will do strange things to you. How you think you'd react and how you'd actually react are 2 very different things.
I hate to say it, but I don’t go into any public place nowadays without having two exits in mind, and at least a couple of decent hiding places.
I have the “Key Chain of Death” in my purse——
All on the same chain
Mini pepper spray

7” pocket knife
Needle nose pliers with with knives, screw drivers etc in the handles
Metal tooth pick
Large nail clippers.
I have a daily knife, work knife, dress, shop, Church and various others for where/what I'll be doing or going that day.
“Women can be just as violent. Most children killed by a parent, are killed by the Mother.”
Stats?
I love it when you talk dirty ...
Swiss Army knife, liner-lock blade, and Gerber Multi-Plier.
How about this scum of a person down in Aruba....what a psychopath...
This is well-known, look it up.

In any case, it never made sense for this to be a real ‘stick-up.’ It was about an act of evil, not monetary gain via force.
What? You don't know how to do research?
Biological fathers are 1/58th to 1/234th as likely as mothers to murder their own children.
I’m so sorry for you.
All that stuff sounds great. I want some.
That works well, until you walk out of the restaurant, and open your car door, and start to sit down, when a guy in a mask comes flying at you with a gun pointed at your face, and says “Gimme the purse”.
Ladies, purses are a target, and a magnet.
I keep the following in my purse:
A LED flashlight (small)
2 pens
2 pieces of note paper
Lipstick
Nail file
Eve glasses
Kleenex
Gum
1 small Purell
My ID, credit cards, cash are in my pocket, where I can keep my hand and hip on them.
You might be a target, but you don’t have to let them get all the important stuff.
;-D
I have a fit when I have to wear something without pockets. You will never find me in a store carrying a “purse.” Everything is in my pocket and if I don’t have a pocket, you won’t find me in a store.
I carry a purse.
As a decoy.
I don't have a problem with you carrying a gun at the mall. But I have met a lot of people who I wouldn't trust with a gun at the mall.
