Here was my take on hearing the news as soun by McCain's camp yesterday:

McCain campaign worker: "Senator, I have some good news and some bad news. Bob Dole endorsed us ..."

McCain: "Oh, great. What's the good news?"

Well I don’t mind him endorsing anyone, but his 1996 performance puts that endorsement in the proper perspective.

Dole served out nation honorably during WWII (and I know you know this), but I do not appreciate his service in the Senate. He seemed like a luke warm conservative IMO.
