Boycott National Businesses that operate in Berkeley (Vanity)
Berkeley Chamber Of Commerce ^ | 2/5/2008 | self

While we should respect free speech for all, Berkeley City Council stepped over the line when they endorsed harassment of Marines performing their lawful and required duties. Because of their actions there must be consequences and it must hit them where it hurts, the wallet. The link is to the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce Directory and some businesses are nationwide. Before going out shopping please check the list and try to avoid any businesses that have operations in Berkeley. Also drop them a line explaining the reasons for no longer doing business with them. Berkeley will never admit it hurts them but the truth is it will.

Your guess is as off as your logic. I'm an 18 year old 3rd year student at Purdue University studying ranch management. Additionally, I took over the reins as CEO of two of our family businesses after my father passed 8 months ago. My upbringing is ultraconservative but don't confuse me as a republican.

Boycotts, when applied to the correct persons/businesses are effective and collateral damage should be limited.

It was a joke. Do you really think a few people boycotting an ACE Hardware store in Fresno are going to hurt Berkeley? You’ll see after you’ve been here awhile there’s a call for a boycott of something or another on a regular basis. Walmart, Target, Home Depot are just a few and I assure you they’re still going strong despite Freepers calls to boycott. Don’t forget while your busy going to school, running two companies and not being a Republican - to loosen up a little. Sheesh.
