Stand it!

Principles used to mean something in this Country.

One of the reasons our Country is in the mess it's in, is because we've lost our way, and abandoned our principles.

What lessons do we teach our Children, our Families, our friends, and our peers, if we, so easily, abandon what's important, and what has made us this great Country, and what the Founders fought for.

Did they not teach us that principles are worth every human effort possible? Did they not set out before us a Document that, in great explication, perfects our Principles?

FRed Thompson called his campaign the "Common Sense" campaign. He used the words, common sense, frequently, and he took a common sense approach to his positions and principles. Common sense, as in the writings of Thomas Paine of the same name. (My mind conjurs an image of FRed, looking at the camera, cigar in mouth, and saying..."Common sense, America, ya' might want to think about that.", LOL)

Common Sense
These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.Thomas Paine

These, again, are the times that try men's souls. Who, amongst us, will "stand it"?

If McCain, Romney, Huckabee, or Paul, truly represent YOUR principles; if you can stand in front of those that make you proud and say "that man represents what I believe, that man is a Patriot, that man is the man I want, above all others, to lead our Country", then by all means, vote for that man.

Otherwise, "stand it".

The image of Fred taking a stand in Iowa while the others raised their sheepish hands ~ and how they quickly backed off once HE showed some moral courage ~
is indelibly etched.

“I should hope other FredHeads, as strong federalists, don’t ignore their state elections.”

Wouldn’t think of it.

I crack up every time I see it. Sometimes I play in slow-mo, to see the look on their faces as their hands go up and then down. LOL

I’m with you. My congressman is a fine conservative legislator and supported Fred. I’m voting for those farther down on the ticket and writing in Fred.

OUTSTANDING! You, John Quincy Adams (with kalee's help) have convinced me to vote for Fred on March 5th.

A planet of playthings,
We dance on the strings
Of powers we cannot perceive
"The stars aren't aligned,
Or the gods are malign..."
Blame is better to give than receive.

You can choose a ready guide in some celestial voice.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
You can choose from phantom fears and kindness that can kill;
I will choose a path that's clear I will choose freewill.

Thank you for putting that song in my head. It's a great one!

Just got back from voting for Fred, he was still on the CA ballot, as were all the rest of the candidates. Oh yeah that felt good to actually vote for someone rather than against someone. I just could not stand the thought of voting for Mitt....ugh!

I voted for FRed here in Georgia, too.
