Here’s what McCain says.

McCain made a stop in Nashville this weekend.

He held a fundraiser on Saturday in Green Hills and then spoke at the Montgomery Bell Academy.

He was asked about an endorsement from Fred Thompson, the former Tennessee senator who recently dropped out of the race.

McCain said, “Oh I am sure Fred will be very supportive at the right time. Frankly, we are too close of friends for me to outright ask him.”

Thank you, AuntB.

I’ve seen his comments, but I’ve yet to hear the same sentiments from Fred.
It’s all well and good for McCain to want his endorsement, which I’m sure he would walk through a wall of fire to get.
But, until I hear it from Fred, it’s all speculation without any substance.

BTW, since he was asked the question, would you expect him to say, “Fred hates me.”? ;o)
