Washington is out of control -— buying votes and power with more socialism, redistribution of wealth and entitlements for those that do not deserve them. When will America wake up?

It's so sad to see the President going along with this sham/scam. When I hear him touting this travesty it makes me wonder even more what he will yet come up with before his term ends. It's a shame to see him become a shill for the actions of a corrupt, lying Congress.
My greatest fear is that he still has many more nails to drive into the sickly Republican party before he's gone. He cares about his own party as much as I care for John McCain.

Another article that tells me something about the future. What goes through my mind is what do I do about it.
From a worldly perspective it is:
1) get rid of debt
2) diversify my holdings.
3) buy another gun and more ammo
4) invest in family and friends, I may need them
5) Move out to the country where I can have some independence
From a Faith perspective:
1) Trust God. This had all happened before and there is nothing new under the sun.
I remember visiting Mongolia when all the gov’t and financial stability was removed when Communism was over thrown. Everyone moved out of the gov’t housing and moved to the country to live in yurts. electricity was on for only 2 hours a day. Wealth was measured in horses and cattle.

(For those who remember, this parallels what liberal Sen. George McGovern called a negative income tax when he ran for President in 1972.)
For those who remember better, the "Negative Income Tax" was devised in part by Milton Friedman in the early '60s. He spends a whole chapter on it in "Free to Choose." The idea is to encourage people to work rather than simply go on welfare; Friendman envisioned it replacing welfare completely, eliminating one whole arm of the bureaucracy, though expanding the IRS. We can argue about how much the credit should be, but historically the Negative Income Tax/Earned Income Tax Credit was a conservative program, not a liberal one, George McGovern notwithstanding.

Next thing you know, they’ll be giving $2,000 Visa cards to hurricane “victims”.

Wonder how the three standing Senators will vote. We should already know that McCain will oppose needless government spending .... but it is an election year.
