Maybe they didn’t want the gunman to know that one of the women lived.

Based on what I’ve seen of this kind of shooting—and even before reading that one victim lived—an arrest should be made in a day or two.

They said they were pressing their search for an African-American man about 5 foot 9 and 260 pounds, dressed in black clothing.

Wow, I'm surprised they reported that.

I wonder when Jesse and Al will show up to remark on the violence... oops, he shot white women? Never mind.

How would a family member of one of the vicitms be viewed if he took revenge?

That might depend on whether he got the right person. Justice is visited on the guilty; revenge is typically inflicted on the guilty and the innocent indifferently.

My first guess is that she either got a really good look at the guy or knows him.

If he asks for a trial by jury I doubt that he would be prosecuted, especially if I was sitting. Justice is justice. Bureaucratic justice is too damned expensive and pays liberals too much money.

A very strange robbery if he just picked the place at random. To go into a store early in the day when not much money could have been collected, to kill 5 people for $200 dollars, gives new meaning to the word senseless.

“African-American man about 5 foot 9 and 260 pounds,”

5’9” and 260 lbs does narrow it down. They’re looking for a short, chunky guy.

Lane Bryant is for 'large women', isn't it?

But Chicago has very strict gun control; this is impossible because everyone knows that people who want to harm others will obey gun control laws when they wouldn't obey the laws against assault and murder.

It's a good thing none of the women were armed! They might have gotten hurt.

Not as much as it once was, it's now more for women with curves.

Ann Coulter doesn't shop there if that's what you mean.

I know the rules, even if she is a bit on the bony side for my tastes. She's not that far on that side.

I have a friend in Tinley Park. This lovely Chicago southwestern suburb is going heavy Muslim now....an expanding outpost of the ROP. The shooter could be an ex-con prison convert.

I just saw some comments on a blog about this shooting. Something about the shooter binding the women up with duct tape and trying to make advances on one?

This sure got dropped by the new media pretty quickly. Have you seen any updates?

Not a drop of news on this, nada.

This always makes me suspicious. I'm pinging someone who lives in the suburban area (and who is very familiar with Tinley Park) who might have something to tell us on this. I hope she will ping you and me if she knows something.

Actually, it was reported at the time that there was a female survivor. The story I read stated that the woman was in protective custody at an undisclosed location.
