Yes, of course, but isn’t McCain more fiscally conservative than Hilary?

Please don’t misunderstand, I’m not for either of them.

Thank you. And thanks upthread for that pic of McCain with the strike-through.

I’m gonna spend the rest of my days fighting this guy. I only hope that Rush, Levin and the talk show crowd doesn’t bend over. Like no less an authority than Chris Matthews opines...”The Dems fall in love; the Repubs fall in line.”

Here’s another plan I’m formulating. First, I am the campaign chair for the Sussex county Republican women’s club. I was asked to do it, fair and square. I’ve been talking to many of these ladies and while the fairer sex is generally more loving and forgiving, THEY dislike McCain intensely. My story is anecdotal so take it on that level. My sense is that this group doesn’t like McCain and, indeed, many of them said they simply were not going to vote come November.

Here’s what I’m thinking of doing. Haven’t made up my mind yet. I’m looking for more support; a better feel on whether conservatives across the fruited plain are gonna “fall in line” or finally draw a line and say they’ve had enough.

anyway, if the movement and sentiment against McCain grows I think it would be an effective action for pubbie groups such as mine to pass resolutions that would FORBID contributions for the presidency of John McCain.

Indeed. The SCRWC is the biggest fundraising force in the state of Delaware which might not be saying much but still...

Get enough of these grass roots groups to take such an action and somebody in the pubbie party will get the message. For sure it will make the drive-by media orgasmic.

I am going to make this motion at the next meeting but I am scared out of my mind. I’m still keeping my finger on the pulse but hey, they’re liable to kick me out. Already I’ve caused these women all kinds of consternation yet still...they like me...they really, really like me.

anyway, that’s just another fine thought I’ve had to help herd us cats.

Might happen. Probably not.

I am stopping by this morning to say I just caught some of Russert. Is Carville in full weasel mode, or what!? He looks as if he’s truly sticking his head out of a hole to make an accusation, like he’s a character in a Winnie the Pooh storybook. And Matalin is sitting there next to him... what the hell is wrong with that woman?

The whole panel consisted of nothing but strategists, all of them sitting around jawing about how important their decisions are to the life of candidates. It’s like in Hollywood, how everyone wants to direct.

Meanwhile with HRC in the WH maybe what’s left of the GOP congress would finally show some balls.

Agreed. Plus with a Hillary run her negatives will probably help the down ticket Republicans as people will be more like to vote a split ticket "so someone is in Washington keeping an eye on her". Hillary quite probably will have negative coat tails, doing more harm then good to down ticket Democrat candidates

Yeah, and 9 months ago only Rudy G could beat Hillary according to the polls. Where is he now?

The same place as he was 23 minutes and 49 seconds earlier?

Does the fine, even-tempered McCain really think that the right wing talk show will, boom, just roll over and play dead oncit McCain gets this nomination? IE...does anybody really think that Rush or Mark Levin won't mention, say, the Swift boat slam?

You don't really think that Rush and Levin will be attacking McCain if he has the nomination, do you?

So I fell asleep and woke up on February 6th, dear panelists?????

Right. Can't blame folks for not rallying around Romney while Thompson and Hunter were still in the race.

All correct. I said to hold off for months but now is time we will make our decision here in CO. Given the choices we have, Romney is the only one closest to conservative values of less government, lower taxes, stopping illegal immigration, going for true energy Independence, stopping the wacko environmentalists and having the executive leadership needed to run the country.

As for our not having better choices, this is another issue we can thank John McCain for. Campaign Finance Reform hurt Republicans across the board, and helped Democrats. We will not get better candidates until this horrible law is thrown out. The only people still supporting it are Democrats and John McCain.
