BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- The State Attorney's Office will decide whether to charge two teens who admit they robbed a 9-year-old Girl Scout selling cookies outside of a Boynton Beach supermarket.
"I thought that it was a really mean thing to do, and I was sad after," Girl Scout Gracie Smith told WPBF News 25.
Authorities said that a 17-year-old girl in a hot-pink sweatshirt approached Smith outside of a Winn-Dixie supermarket at Hypoluxo and Jog roads in Boynton Beach Wednesday evening and asked the girl what her favorite cookies were. Police told WPBF that, while Smith was telling the teen about her favorite Cinna-Spins, the teen snatched an envelope containing about $167 off of Smith's table, hopped into another teen's car and drove away.

I see though that the father of one of the girls did pay the money back. At least he has a conscience. Also the girls were driving a vehicle. Stating the obvious, it was probably the family car, so I’m guessing at least one of the families is not poor. I’m just wondering if in the case of one of the girls if the parents are actually pretty good people, and the girl is just plain mean and stupid.
“We went through all that effort to get it, we got all these charges and we had to give the money back. I’m kind of pissed,” one of the girls told WPBF.”

I didn’t say “God taken out of their lives”, apparently God was never part of their lives. If so, perhaps their lives might be different. Parents are the bedrock of growing up right, however, if God is not an integral part of the parents lives how can they instruct their children in the ways of righteousness?
They deserve to be butt jokes. Sadly though, you can be assured that they are heroes to others who are just as pathetic as themselves.

It is also adults. I did essentially the same thing to a clerk who was in his 40s and he freaked out. He thought I was pulling some kind of scam on him when all I wanted was to get back a nickle instead of 2 pennies.
How can they even consider NOT charging those girls? Isn’t stealing a crime anymore?

I have to disagree with you. Often, parents do not have children with the behavior they tried to teach to them.

You’re missing my point. Huckabee’s son didn’t have a life where God was “apparently” not an integral part of their lives. He was a minister after all. Yet, his son managed to torture a defenseless animal (that’s pretty heinous, too, in fact more so in some ways). It was shoved under the rug...better to not embarrass mom and dad than deal with a serious problem. My point was that parents are God’s agents on earth. Sometimes how much “God” a family has in their lives doesn’t determine the quality of parenting. While we are Christian, I’ve known several families (through activities my sons were involved in) who weren’t religious at all and still had upright, moral kids. Whatever a family’s beliefs parents are directly and daily involved and there are always but always signs before a child gets to the point that they’re stealing from Girls Scouts or hanging dogs.
