Appeal to Mike Huckabee, be a conservative Hero
vanity | 02/01/2008 | FreeAtlanta

Posted on 02/02/2008 7:24:12 PM PST by FreeAtlanta

Dear Mr. Huckabee,

For the sake of the Republican Party and your future political viability, please consider stepping down before this “Super” Tuesday.

I know this is asking a lot, but most conservatives despise John McCain as a politician. If you cause him to be selected in the primary, this will hang around your neck like an albatross. You will not be able to remove it. If you think you will have favoritism from McCain, first, you can't trust him and second, he will not be elected. The base, a good percentage of what would be your future voters, will not vote for him. He will loose to the Democrat candidate, and your political future will be over.

If you have people reading this forum (I strongly suspect you do), then please consider backing out of this race. If done correctly, you could elevate your political future and gain the appreciation from a very dedicated national base.

You do not want "moderate" or "independent" love, because they are so fickle. You do want our respect. Please step aside for now.

Thank you,

Free Atlanta

Your FL “conservatives” are obviously misinformed...Romney, unlike McNasty, has been faithful to his wife of many years. He IS a “family man” and is AGAINST gay marriage. I don’t know what his views are on homosexuality in general. Perhaps a fellow Freeper knows...Reagan was a Democrat, for gosh sakes long before he became a Repub—so was Charlton Heston, another conservative icon. Why is Romney any different? Because his changes were quicker?

Huck,

While your influence is at its peak, throw your support behind your rival, Romney. Show how “love thy enemy” works in the real world.

And please remember Nader.

If Romney wasn’t born a Mormon, this race would have been over months ago.

B.S. The percentage of Republican voters who won't vote for him because he is a Mormon is tiny. Quit whining about what a bunch of bigots Republican voters are supposed to be. It's a pathetic excuse. Romney had every advantage in this race; money, organization, resume, clean personal history. He should have had an insurmountable lead by now. But like the old joke about the dog food ads, there's just one problem, the dogs won't eat it. Mitt just hasn't been able to connect enough people. There's been no intensity, no believability.

I'll give you an example. In the last debate, Mitt knew he needed to score a major hit. He should have asked McCain why he wasn't talking about the bills he produced in the Senate. Asked him why he agrees with the most liberal senators like Kennedy and Feingold on legislation? And what does he mean when he said Hillary Clinton would make a good president? Most Republicans think she would be a disaster, don't they deserve a nominee who shares that opinion? If she would be a good president, why should voters elect him? Would it have swayed voters? Maybe. At least it would have been real.

Instead Mitt recited his resume yet again.

You don’t have to be a conservative justice, just a constructionist judge. Creating law from the bench has gotten us into horrible hot water. If the great Mark Levin says Romney is our best choice, I will put money and my vote on it.

It only took a small percentage in Florida. The people I have not been able to personally change their vote? They are Christians who have had anti-mormon classes in Church!! Appears they are are afraid of this cult.

Dear Huckabee, Romney and McCain supporters. You should be encouraging them all to drop out. Let’s start over from scratch. I can’t believe you are all argueing about who is the best or the worst of these three (fill in the blanks).

Long time conservative? Huckabee is so conservative that he thinks denying socialism to illegal invaders is un-Christian. Now he is a flip-flopper as well.

By signing Senator Sessions immigration pledge HUCKABEE IS UN-CHRISTIAN AND UN-AMERICAN BY HIS OWN CRITERIA!!!
http://www.arkansasnews.com/archive/2005/01/28/News/316347.html
Gov. Mike Huckabee Thursday denounced a bill by Sen. Jim Holt that would deny state benefits to illegal immigrants as un-Christian, un-American, irresponsible and anti-life.

Even if benefits to people who are in the U.S illegally could be stopped, “I don’t understand how a practicing Christian can turn his back on a child from this or any other state,” Huckabee said.

I should write one to Romney saying the same thing. I don’t think Romney would get enough boost to put him on top. There has been too much said about him that will poison him in their minds.

Dear Huck: for the sake of Party unity, offer the VP slot to Romney before super Tuesday.

Romney is different because he was just as passionate when he was for, say, pro-choice or abolishing PACs, as he is today when he says he is pro-life and against McCain feingold. And that is really phoney.

Huckabee sounds just like a Democrat.

As did Romney until he ran for president. His actions spoke even louder than his mouthed promises.

It only took a small percentage in Florida.

There were 20% undecided a week before the election. Mitt couldn't sway them and they broke for McCain. That's why Mitt lost, not because of Huckabee.

If Romney wasn’t born a Mormon, this race would have been over months ago.

His Liberal history would have doomed him sooner without the "they're picking on me because I'm a Mormon" card.

Did you support the President on his multiple attempts at an amnesty proposal?

I saw a bit of the “arrogant, bunker-type mentality” then.

Typical Huckabee cheap shot, we all know Huckabee's quote referred to Bush's foreign policy and war on terror. Sorry Huckabites, but someone who doesn't know what an NIE is and doesn't know the difference between Syria and Jordon will never be ready for primetime.

Actually, the only one on the chart that Romney could act on as governor was the Bush tax cuts. He DID oppose them: Enough to earn public praise out of Barney Frank.

Yup. Marsha used to be my Congresswoman until they gerry-mandered me out of her district. Good thing. She got off with a stern e-mail and perhaps a conversation when I next see her. I’d have had to be more adamant about things if she were still my Rep. I expect things like endorsing Romney out of a Democrat, not a Republican. She’s fallen for the “stop Hillary, stop McCain” at the cost of electing a Liberal gambit. She’s better than that.

Take a gander at Romney’s choice of judges in Mass. that he blamed on the panel that sat at his pleasure.
