Dear Mr. Huckabee,
For the sake of the Republican Party and your future political viability, please consider stepping down before this Super Tuesday.
I know this is asking a lot, but most conservatives despise John McCain as a politician. If you cause him to be selected in the primary, this will hang around your neck like an albatross. You will not be able to remove it. If you think you will have favoritism from McCain, first, you can't trust him and second, he will not be elected. The base, a good percentage of what would be your future voters, will not vote for him. He will loose to the Democrat candidate, and your political future will be over.
If you have people reading this forum (I strongly suspect you do), then please consider backing out of this race. If done correctly, you could elevate your political future and gain the appreciation from a very dedicated national base.
You do not want "moderate" or "independent" love, because they are so fickle. You do want our respect. Please step aside for now.
Thank you,
Free Atlanta
I never believe exit polls.
Check the scoreboard Homer. More votes, more delegates. You should really pay more attention.
What are these Freepers who are high or hot on Haley Barbour as a potential GOP VP mate? Doesn’t anyone here remember how he and Gingrinch helped destroy the ‘94 Revolution? It wasn’t the Dems...it was RINO blowhards like Barbour who has apparently “reinvented” himself as Gov. of Miss. Barbour reminds me of Democrat backroom man Jess Unruh of CA back in Gov. Moonbeam’s days. How any of you could trust that bastard is beyond me...He ain’t no stinkin’ conservative, that’s for sure, any moreso than toupeed Trent Lott’s a conservative...
I’m not even sure Rudy talked about his faith. Certainly not like romney has.
Apart from being a Bible thumper, in what respect is Huckabee a conservative?
Thanks, Jim! I try...I nearly had a seizure the other night during McNasty’s debate antics...
I don’t know if he is conservative or not but I highly doubt he’d be picked as a VP against the first female presidential candidate
Tigen
That’s a disgusting commercial, using little children for political expediency...Yuk!!
I don't agree that all of Huckabee voters are RINOs. They are poorly informed, but I don't think they are true RINOs. Most are sincere conservatives and have strong religious convictions. They are not familiar with the path they are helping to send us.
Personally, I have been able to turn a few religious friends from voting for Huckabee or not voting at all, to voting for Mitt on Tuesday.
I wish there was more time, and I wish I could get to more people.
RATS! We will get stuck with a DemoncRAT!
ari-
Rep. Marsha Blackburn (TN), a wonderful and attractive, well-spoken conservative (who had backed Thompson) is now backing Romney. She would be a SUPERB VP, but I doubt that McCain picking her would help bring conservatives to vote for him. She WOULD, however, he a WONDERFUL choice for Romney shoudl he somehow perform a political miracle.
You might as well write a piece to all the candidates since they have already taken votes from potential Conservatives candidates.
I live in Florida and I have talked to a number of those conservative votes pulled away by Huckabee. (I tried to convince them to vote for Hunter.) Most of them would never vote for Romney. Something about being pro homosexual agenda, bringing about gay marriage, and saying he was pro choice before he was against it. They also did not care for his second amendment stand. They would not vote for Mitt if he was the only person running.
I have not talked to all of them, but I do not doubt most of them would vote for McCain over a Massachusetts liberal. Even though they know how McCain bad mouthed Christians, they just cannot overcome Romney’s anti family positions.
I don’t know that all the states are like that, but I’m sure there are more than a few people down here who feel that way.
he’s also yes for almost of them as well
Just one example,
A Boston Globe article from July 1994 reported that Romney publicly advocated placing spending limits on congressional campaigns and abolishing political action committees (PACs).
Listen to his passion and conviction about campaign finance reform:

At least 2 flaming liberals are due to retire or pass away, the next President will appoint their replacements. Romney will put constructionists - see Mark Levins, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingrahams endorsments - where as McCain will put in judicial legistlatures - liberals. And, Roe v. Wade will continue to be the law of the land.
They were deceived.
based on his actual record as governor, it is highly unlikely Romney will pick conservative judges.
