Being a little bit moderate is like being a little bit pregnant.

As a conservative Republican, there is no way I will ever vote for McCain.

By the way, there is no such thing as a "moderate" conservative. You're either a conservative or you aren't. We don't allow 'tweeners.

Nice try though.

Almost forgot this one:

5. Not back down on spending? McCain has teamed up with yet another liberal to implement a massive government program to “deal” with the scam called global warming. Part of the bill requires a tax increase of 50c per gallon of gasoline. Since McCain loves to play class warfare (e.g., claiming Bush’s tax cuts as “Tax Cuts for the Rich”, he should be reminded that his new gasoline tax will be devastating on the poor. Of course, he will probably move to expand the already massive bureaucracy required to run this scam even further to provide gasoline tax credits for everyone but the “rich”.

5a. Not back down on spending? Do you realize that McCain teamed up with another liberal named Ted Kennedy for a bill to give amnesty for illegal immigrants that, if implemented, would result in massive spending increases at federal, state and local levels for decades to come?

The spending required by those two pieces of legislation would make earmarks look like nickel-dime stuff.

>>>I see McCain as the best alternative to Clintons and Obamas.<<<

How much is the Crooked Talk Express paying you to support him?

BTW, since you have been a member of Free Republic for maybe 2 minutes, I doubt anyone is going to believe a word you write.

>>>They are not senile, they just do not agree with left leaning liberals.<<<

You make no sense. McCain is a left-leaning liberal (in many instances a far-left-leaning liberal). If the flag officers don’t agree with him, why are they endorsing him? Could it be they are truly senile, or are they hoping for some political payoff?

I never realized how much visceral anger was locked up inside me. The fact that John McCain now is openly campaigning as a conservative takes my breath away. I can hardly put into words how much I despise this conniving fraud.

He is made a career out of showing his contempt, anger and hatred for conservative policies and honorable conservative Republicans. His use of the Reagan mantle is sacrilegious.

His contempt and hatred for those who want to secure our borders is beyond the pale. How dare he enlist Juan Hernandez to formulate immigration policy. A man who is a dual citizen and repeatedly tells illegal and legal immigrants to always think Mexico first. And then he labels as racist anyone who disagrees with him.

His love of liberal Judges like Souter and disdain for conservative Judges, like Alioto tells you everything you know about what type of Judges he would appoint.

His desire to stifle free speech and anyone who disagrees with him by shoving the campaign finance reform down our throat tells you what he thinks of our First Amendment rights.

His contempt for Wall Street, entrepreneurs and the free market system tells you what he really believes the role of government should be, his claims for small government to the contrary.

His campaign against tax cuts and playing the “class envy” card to inflame hatred between fellow Americans tells you all you need to know what he thinks about his fellow Americans and conservatives in particular.

His visceral hatred for evangelicals and labeling its leaders, “leaders of intolerance” tells you what he thinks about religion and those who would practice it.

I could go on and on and on...

No, I do not want a man seething with white-hot anger and hatred for conservatives anywhere near the presidency. I would never want anyone with so much uncontrollable rage anywhere near the nuclear button.

If McCain is the nominee I will do everything I can to see that he loses by the biggest margin in US History. This is the only way to punish “so-called” establishment Republicans ho would hijack and shred the party’s conservative principles.

I cannot wait for the first idiot from the RNC to phone me asking for my financial support. I will break his eardrums.

Mccain has consistently voted for SC judicial nominees in tough fights like Bork, Thomas, Alito and Roberts!

Sure and hoopdeedoo.

McCain On Alito
By Rick Edwards · 06:01 PM · October 31, 2005 ·

John McCain is "favorably disposed" toward SCOTUS nominee
Judge Samuel Alito, as he just told Alan Colmes on Fox. Not a surprise, as opposition toward Alito by McCain would irrevocably kill any chance he has of getting the 2008 nomination. McCain's support of Alito throughout the nomination process would significantly assist him in repairing the damage he brought upon himself by engineering the Gang of 14 compromise on judicial filibusters last spring.

McCain also has as an advisor Warren Ruddman who gave us David Souter.

Rudman is not in charge of selecting judges, but Olson is.

He wants to close Guantanamo

So do many in the officers' corps.

2. There is no way McCain would nominate a true conservative to the bench since a true conservative would declare the McCain-Feingold legislation (aka, the Incumbent Protection Act) to be unconstitutional.

McCain-Feingold will be declared unconstitutional before McCain will have the opportunity to pick a SCOTUS appointee.

If Olson supports McCain, then Olson is no conservative.

How many? Where do you get your information?

>>>SecDef and JCOS<<<

Nothing new here. Gates stated he wanted to close the base, but the primary problem was where to put the detainees, which has been the Bush administration position all along. But that is not McCain’s view. He wants to close it, period, with no provisions for where to put the detainees, other than inside the United States and under our judicial system. McCain is truly a dangerous screwball.

I could not read the JCOS statement. The link to the Yahoo article has been removed.

Then he needs to be fired. NO ONE, AND I MEAN NO ONE is “part” conservative. Your poster name implies you are. “Moderate”??????????? conservative???? Either you are a conservative or you are not. There is no in between in my book. You are a conservative, support conservative values and the conservative beliefs. If you part company with that, allowing say, oh, “I don’t care if two men marry,” then you are no conservative. There are no moderates in the conservative belief. You ARE a MODERATE. NOT a conservative.

BTW, I also forgot this one:

1a. (War on Terror) McCain wants to grant amnesty to all illegals, and has been “for a border fence” only recently for political expediency (only a fool would believe he really wants that fence). Open borders is a severe security threat.

Explain CFR, glabal warming baloney regulatory acts, waterboarding stances, tax cut BS, open border nonsense, and so on. Unlike Bush, who never telegraphed his lurches to the left, Mccain has told us exactly what he’s going to do . Explain how you can support someone who HATES conservatives and enjoys sticking a knife in their backs.
