Good news bump
Still too close for comfort. We need Huckabee to drop out now. Do it, Mike. It’s your patriotic duty.
Huck is a stalking horse. He’s in the race to split conservatives and hand the nomination to McCain. Mike Huckabee ought to be ashamed of himself for allowing himself to be used this way. He ought to be even more ashamed if he’s doing it to snag himself a VP slot.
A vote for Huck is a vote for McAmnesty
Eight years of liberal social engineering - embryonic stem cell harvesting, cloning, Terri Schiavo-style euthanasia, SCOTUS run by the Harvard faculty, Mexifornia sanctuary cities across the country, compulsory "It Takes a Village" daycare - and the U.S. is finished as a civilization.
Romney leads by sixteen percentage points among conservatives while McCain has a two-to-one advantage among moderate Primary Voters.
That’s only some of McCain’s baggage...which we will never hear about in the MSM. Bush’s DUI was a HUGE issue, of course...
My wife and I signed the (unfortunately unsuccessful) petition to recall McCain years ago. Last week we both voted early for Romney. Fingers crossed...
15 Yet, my brethren, I have not done these things that I might boast, neither do I tell these things that thereby I might accuse you; but I tell you these things that ye may know that I can answer a clear conscience before God this day.
16 Behold, I say unto you that because I said unto you that I had spent my days in your service, I do not desire to boast, for I have only been in the service of God.
17 And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.
18 Behold, ye have called me your king; and if I, whom ye call your king, do labor to serve you, then ought not ye to labor to serve one another?
GO MITT !!
Mitt has to win in the states that matter, though.
That is the challenge now.
Hackabee is going to win Arkansas, so that state is not going to go anywhere.
Frankly, we’re likely looking at EITHER:
a McQueeg administration with a Democrat Congress. Will parallel the Nixon years. It’ll suck.
or
a Hitlery/Hussein administration with a Democrat Congress. Will parallel the Carter years. It’ll suck on toast.
Either way, conservatism will hibernate.
Let me first say that I am a born-again evangelical conservative voter who initially liked Mike Huckabee even though I didnt believe he was electable. However, the more I looked at Huckabee, the more I realized that his record as Governor didnt really back what he was now championing. That is when I took a second look at Romney. I remember first being impressed with him when I saw him give his speech at the Olympics. Of course, I, like many of you, was concerned about Romneys Pro-Life conversion and wondered how it would play to the masses. I remembered watching part of one of his debates on C-Span when he was running for Governor of Massachusetts and thinking that it was too bad that he wasnt Pro-Life. Well, now he is and let me remind some of you that Ronald Reagan was at one time Pro-Choice. Then there is the part about Romney being Mormon. I was brought up being taught that Mormonism was a cult and that they were all going to hell. After reading some of the Internet messages posted by Huckabee supporters it is clear that a lot of them still believe this. As Ive grown older I have come to the realization that it is not my duty to send people to hell. Let me remind you that we are electing our President, not our Sunday school teacher. I personally have never met a Mormon that wasnt a decent honest god-fearing citizen. We do not have to worry about skeletons in Romneys closets, but I can assure you that there are a lot of stories about McCain that the media is sitting on until he wins the nomination. It is my view that John McCain has no chance of winning in November and I do not believe he will do as well as Bob Dole did. If you recall, Dole was leading in the Polls at this stage. As for Huckabee, it is clear he is trying to help McCain. Maybe he has been promised something or maybe he just loves being in the spotlight. Either way, if McCain wins the nomination, the Republican base will blame Huckabee. Our only chance of stopping Hillary or Obama is to somehow convince Huckabee supporters to see the light as I have. A vote for Huckabee at this point is a vote for Liberalism.
If anyone doesnt think the calling isnt important between now and Tuesday, read this exchange:

I have been calling for Romney all day. Its amazing that there are still so many that are undecided between Mitt and McCain. Most of my undecideds said they would look at Romney again. One person from Teller County Colorado was telling me that she had no idea as to where to go on Tuesday, and no one she knew did either. What is going on out there? She wants input into the upcoming election, but nothing was sent to the voters in her area. This is unreal.

To All:
We have three days to stop McCain and if you want to help us you dont even have to leave your house.
The calls you make that connect you to voters could put Mitt over the top, they could mean the difference in determining our next president. Please join us during all or some of the times we have set aside by emailing I want to win to CallatHome@MittRomney.com.
Pass this info on to as many people as possible.
McCain must be stopped! bttt

perhaps then we can regroup with a strong conservative in 2012.
Huckabee is trotting for McCain. He only attacks Romney and Romney is not who he needs to beat if he was really interested in winning. He is just there to slow Mitt with a heavy handicap. Huck has no money and no chance. There is no reason to be in it except the deal he has with the geezer.
Huck sure has a solid %. And nice to see some previously undecideds going straight for Romney.
Wow! It'd sure be nice, then, if you held Romney to the same standard you held Huckabee on issues besides abortion.
Two examples: Economic issues and forcing businesses to hire alternative sexual minorities. The Cato Institute rated Romney a "C" for his economic policies & track record while guv of the Bay State (the same rating it gave NM guv Bill Richardson)
THE FLiP SIDE OF MITT
Multiple Choice Mitt not only "changes" his positions, but he does so multiple times, waffling back & forth. On the position of whether business owners should be forced to hire alternative sexual preference employees, what do you think the chances are of a given candidate having three (count 'em, 3) pre-Christmas positions over the past 14 Christmases? (Well, Mitt has managed to do that...and his latest position is have the states do the dirty work of pro-homosexual activists.
Pre-Christmas 1994 (October): We have discussed a number of important issues such as the Federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which I have agreed to co-sponsor, and if possible broaden Oct. 6, 1994 Romney for U.S. Senate letter to Log Cabin Club of Massachusetts
Pre-Christmas 2006 Interview (mid-December): Lopez: And what about the 1994 letter to the Log Cabin Republicans where you indicated you would support the Federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) and seemed open to changing the dont ask, dont tell policy in the military? Are those your positions today? Gov. Romney: No. I dont see the need for new or special legislation. My experience over the past several years as governor has convinced me that ENDA would be an overly broad law that would open a litigation floodgate and unfairly penalize employers at the hands of activist judges. Pre-Christmas 2007 Interview (mid-December): December 16, 2007: The following is excerpted from Romney's "Meet the Press" interview December 16 with Tim Russert: MR. RUSSERT: You said [in 1994] that you would sponsor [Sen. Ted Kennedy's federal] Employment Nondiscrimination Act. Do you still support it? GOV. ROMNEY: At the state level. I think it makes sense at the state level for states to put in provision of this. MR. RUSSERT: Now, you said you would sponsor it at the federal level. GOV. ROMNEY: I would not support at the federal level, and I changed in that regard because I think that policy makes more sense to be evaluated or to be implemented at the state level.
