McCain was the only one that really stood up for the surge. So many of these Repubs in Congress were MIA for several months. Only McCain was there.

That’s the #1, #2 and #3 issue. Immigration is way down the list in today’s world.

He also supported the surge in illegals. It won't make much difference if we win in Iraq if we lose our sovereignty at home. I have confidence the Mitt would listen to his generals on the ground in Iraq, I don't have the same confidence that McCain will listen to the border patrol along our southern border.

Absolutely lie. McCain was never FOR the Surge. That is a myth being spread by the McCainacs to hide his real record on Iraq.

McCain was the father of the Congressional Baker Comittee who’s “political solution” was to work out a political deal with Iran and Syria to get us out of Iraq. The only reason McCain is now fraudlently trying to claim credit for The Surge is because it is working.

McCain had NOTHING to do with The Surge strategy. If we had followed McCain’s direction in 2004, we would of sent 250,000 US troops to Iraq and Americanzised the war. That would of been a disaster.

The reason the Surge is working is because Bush ignored gas bag McCain’s posturing and stuck with the plan to get the Iraqis to stand on their own two feet. The reason the Surge is working is because we had Iraqi forces to Surge with. if we had followed McCain’s stupid “Boots on the Ground” plan we would not have an Iraqi forces to back up!
