Nazi reference by Clinton supporter repudiated by her campaign

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Just hours after Hillary Clinton adopted a respectful, almost friendly tone with Barack Obama in a Democratic debate, her campaign orchestrated a conference call in which a health-care specialist referred to a Nazi march in denouncing an Obama flyer.

Clinton aides convened pro-Clinton health care analysts on Friday to respond to a new Obama flyer that says: "Hillary's health care plan forces everyone to buy insurance, even if you can't afford it." The flyer features a photo of a worried-looking married couple sitting at a kitchen table.

Len Nichols of the New American Foundation, which is based in Washington, called the photo a "Harry and Louise evocation," a reference to TV ads against Clinton's failed universal health care plan in 1994.

"I am personally outraged at the picture used in this mailing," Nichols told reporters on the conference call. "I just find it disgusting that this kind of imagery is being used to attack the only way to get to universal coverage."

He added: "It is as outrageous as having Nazis march through Skokie, Illinois."

It was a reference to a Nazi splinter group, the National Socialist Party of America, that won a court case 30 years ago allowing them to march through a Chicago suburb with a sizeable Jewish population.

The reference set off strong denunciations by Obama supporters, who accused the Clinton campaign of going way beyond the bounds of acceptable political discourse.

Howard Wolfson, communications director for the Clinton campaign, conceded in an interview with The Examiner that Nichols' remarks were inappropriate. Wolfson said Clinton supporters are "obviously very passionate about this issue, and rightfully so, but that is not a comparison that we would make."

The Clinton campaign later went even further, saying: "These remarks were made by a health care expert unaffiliated with our campaign. They were totally inappropriate and the campaign rejects them completely."

The sharp exchange occurred as Obama is gaining national momentum. A new Gallup poll showed him pulling to within three points of Clinton, or within the poll's margin of error, for the first time.

"Hillary's health care plan forces everyone to buy insurance, even if you can't afford it."

So did Romneys MA plan.

Even as we talk about this, and mock the Hillary! plan, MA residents who chose, for whatever reason, NOT to enroll in the Romney forced health insurance plan are racking up large fines for not enrolling.

By the time the election rolls around, they will have THOUSANDS of fines due.

I'll vote for Romney, because that all we have , but BY GOD, don't tell me he's a conservative.

The Hitler rule—the first person to use a Nazi reference loses the debate.

Sadly the uneducated will buy this and all the other bridges she will sell in the next 9 months. I hope the Presidential debates are able to highlight her corruption. I won’t hold my breath as I figure 90% of the debates (maybe 100%) will be moderated by the Dem-friendly MSM.

Calling opponents Nazi-like would be among the milder things the Clintons have done. Trumping up charges and attempting to have them jailed, or sending goons around to threaten them comes to mind.

I actually heard Hillary! admit that her health care plan will force the young (who frequently don’t buy health care because they are young) to finance the health care for the old. I hope someone can find that sound bite and USE IT.

Want to get away from government insurance for health care? Force Hillary and her family into the same system they want for you. Don’t let them have the option to buy something different. They’ll change their mind real fast. Remember.......keep the people broke and you have them under control.

Essentially, that’s how all insurance plans work, with the healthy paying for the costs of the unhealthy.

Everyone who thinks about it does.

That’s why health insurance is (generally) affordable to all.

The insurance is priced so that the price covers the outlay for the medical costs plus operating expenses, plus profit.

It is then broken down into age bands, with the price in each band reflecting the chance that someone in that particular band needing care.

Young people generally don’t think they are going to have much in way of medical expenses, and so they forgo the insurance. Usually, they are right.

It’s not the issue of who wants to purchase health insurance for catastrophic illness. It is Hillary MANDATING, i.e. FORCING the American public to purchase it. Will she have Health Insurance police to enforce this? Will she have family members ratting out other family members as they do in Communist China? Will she require businesses who must buy health insurance for their employees (if they do not already) to fire an employee who does not wish to pay his portion for the coverage? What then? More unemployed? And not just because small businesses cannot afford such coverage. HMMMM... so much to think about

As I pointed out in post #4, even the most conservative candiate running (Romney)has a history of MANDATES, ie FORCING everyone to enroll in his health insurance plan, or face fines equal to the premium he would have to pay if he had enrolled.

It’s occuring as I type this.

At the point of a gun.

That’s from the MOST CONSERVATIVE man still running.

Dark, dark days already showing themselves as they come over the hill.

You would think we’ve never fought any wars over this.

For what did those hundreds and hundreds of thousands of our brave forefathers die for?

What happens if I do not meet the mandate?

If you don’t have health insurance by Dec. 31, 2007, you will lose your personal income tax exemption for 2007. That exemption gives you a Massachusetts tax savings of approximately $219.

In 2008, the cost of the penalty goes up. The fine will equal half of the cost of the lowest-priced Health Connector-certified plan for each month that you don’t have coverage

Waivers will be available for those who cannot afford a plan that meets the rules. Check back for updates.

How is the mandate enforced?

The Massachusetts Department of Revenue will enforce the individual mandate through the tax process.

Nah, wouldn’t matter, hell they’ve got so much money they could pay for it out of pocket.

Much less they’d never pay a dime, because their “constituency” would foot the bill for them.

It’s not the issue of who wants to purchase health insurance for catastrophic illness.

The Dems in CO have PROHIBITED anyone from buying catastrophic illness only plans.

Our previous governor Owens (R), not quite a RINO, but more a a populist couldn't face them down, as he had very few rock solid principles. Owen destroyed the R party in CO by his leaderlessness, much as Bush (even though he's done much good) has destroyed the R Party with his leaderlessness.

Sorry for the yelling, every aspect of the current race, and the almost certainty of coming dark, dark, times has got me excercised.

Ann Coulter has some excellant points that I can't refute.

The Dems can’t help it, their natural knee jerk instinct is to accuse anyone that disagrees with them being Nazi’s.
