Conservative, conservative, conservative. That was the word Mike Huckabee used again and again with reporters to emphasize his credibility as a contender for the Republican nomination...
“There has been somewhat of - almost a national media spin that this race is a two-man race,” said Huckabee... “Last night, the CNN debate was very frustrating for me. There seemed to be an unequal level of time that was allocated, and if people look at the delegate count, one has to have 1,191 delegates in order to be the nominee. So far, no one has even broken a hundred; there’s only 8% of the delegates that have yet been tabulated ..."
Continuing, Huckabee questioned Romney’s quest to claim the conservative mantle: “If people are looking for a true conservative, somebody who hasn’t had a recent change of opinion to become one, I would be the logical choice ..."
Although he would have “loved” to have Arnold Schwarzenegger’s endorsement, Huckabee seemed to undermine it by challenging the California governor’s conservative credentials, and implicitly, McCain’s.
“I would never have expected the governor of California to endorse me and, frankly, I’m probably a lot more conservative on a lot more issues than he would have been comfortable with – whether it’s the Second Amendment, or pro-life issue, or marriage amendment issue or any number of things.”
Huckabee later said that receiving former Republican candidate Duncan Hunter’s endorsement last week probably meant more in the conservative hotbed of San Diego than Schwarzenegger’s endorsement of McCain.

Well, I can't say that I heard every minute of his shows, but it was my impression that he is a closet Rudy lover. I think he felt he could get away with not endorsing Rudy and when the "inevitable" happened (Rudy's nomination), then Rush could say he's forced by circumstances to support Rudy.
Rudy was clearly the choice of the elitist wing of the party - Fox News, the Country Club set, etc. And Rush definitely fits in with that bunch.
For whatever reason, Rush DIDN'T endorse one of the two conservative candidates. He DIDN'T lift a finger for either of them. Now, when he sees that McCain and not Rudy seems "inevitable," Rush is whining.
I don't have any sympathy for him and I no longer have any respect for him. He's become part of the problem.
That’s an awful story! So not only do we have Huckabee himself catching and frying squirels, but he tried to cover up that his son brutally killed a dog! Anyone who is mean to animals is not going to gain my approval.

Most liberal journalists are spinning this as a two-way race between Senator McCain and Governor Romney.

Now back to Mitt, ..... I heard he allowed Ted Kennedy to walk around in a drunken stupor, driving his yacht, all this while Mitt was Governor.
Then Mitt lets JFK Junior kill two young women, flying in the dark without instrument training.
I simply cant vote for Mitt, knowing he did not revoke Ted Kennedy’s driving license, and then let that JFK boy fly in the dark. There, I said it. Mitt is a liberal from Taxachussets.

I hear people make the argument that Romney is a great business man... blah blah blah, so he's going to make a great president. He's blown 34 million dollars of his own money and only has a few more delegates than Huckabee. Huckabee has spent a fraction of the money and is still in the race.
Who is the better business man?
Thank God we'll never get to see Romney get eaten alive in the general.

He has not changed his position on abortion. He's only changed the way he talks about it. He supports overturning Roe v Wade and sending it back to the states. Back to the states, so the liberal states can keep abortion legal.
True conservatives recognize that the right to life is protected by the constitution. It's a federal issue, plan and simple.
Romney's stance is a cop-out.

Sean Hannity’s basically a good person, but I feel the same way about him. He and Rush often seem incapable of considering the possibility that they may be wrong.
