Conservative, conservative, conservative. That was the word Mike Huckabee used again and again with reporters to emphasize his credibility as a contender for the Republican nomination...
There has been somewhat of - almost a national media spin that this race is a two-man race, said Huckabee... Last night, the CNN debate was very frustrating for me. There seemed to be an unequal level of time that was allocated, and if people look at the delegate count, one has to have 1,191 delegates in order to be the nominee. So far, no one has even broken a hundred; theres only 8% of the delegates that have yet been tabulated ..."
Continuing, Huckabee questioned Romneys quest to claim the conservative mantle: If people are looking for a true conservative, somebody who hasnt had a recent change of opinion to become one, I would be the logical choice ..."
Although he would have loved to have Arnold Schwarzeneggers endorsement, Huckabee seemed to undermine it by challenging the California governors conservative credentials, and implicitly, McCains.
I would never have expected the governor of California to endorse me and, frankly, Im probably a lot more conservative on a lot more issues than he would have been comfortable with whether its the Second Amendment, or pro-life issue, or marriage amendment issue or any number of things.
Huckabee later said that receiving former Republican candidate Duncan Hunters endorsement last week probably meant more in the conservative hotbed of San Diego than Schwarzeneggers endorsement of McCain.

Thank you.
And check out this June 13th, 2005 article from the National Right to Life website:
“Massachusetts Legislature Overrides Governors Veto of Stem Cell Bill”
http://www.nrlc.org/news/2005/NRL06/MAStemCell.html
Excerpt: “The Massachusetts Senate and House have overridden Gov. Mitt Romneys veto of an embryonic stem cell bill that authorizes the creation of tiny human beings who would then be killed to extract cells for research purposes. Romney vetoed the bill May 27 after the legislature rejected amendments he proposed.
Romneys amendments, sent to the legislature May 12, one week after the bill was first sent to the governors desk, would have banned all cloning, defined life as beginning at conception, limited compensation to women who donate eggs for cloning, and tightened restrictions on egg donations, according to the Associated Press (AP). These amendments were defeated in both houses May 19.”

“I dont listen to Rush.”
You believe lies for which Rush has been the nation’s principal propagandist:
http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1962437/posts
Well, I can't say that I heard every minute of his shows, but it was my impression that he is a closet Rudy lover. I think he felt he could get away with not endorsing Rudy and when the "inevitable" happened (Rudy's nomination), then Rush could say he's forced by circumstances to support Rudy.
Rudy was clearly the choice of the elitist wing of the party - Fox News, the Country Club set, etc. And Rush definitely fits in with that bunch.
For whatever reason, Rush DIDN'T endorse one of the two conservative candidates. He DIDN'T lift a finger for either of them. Now, when he sees that McCain and not Rudy seems "inevitable," Rush is whining.
I don't have any sympathy for him and I no longer have any respect for him. He's become part of the problem.
That’s an awful story! So not only do we have Huckabee himself catching and frying squirels, but he tried to cover up that his son brutally killed a dog! Anyone who is mean to animals is not going to gain my approval.
“We all know that the MSM likes whoever is most liberal.”
Most liberal journalists are spinning this as a two-way race between Senator McCain and Governor Romney.
do we really have to count kook paul and keys?
how many other marginal candidates exist?
We can hope that there are more true conservatives and less uniformed, easily-duped “conservatives” like you out there, and then Romney will win. :)
Huckaphony is the one who needs to bow out now, while he has any dignity left.
A liberal milestone....So much for family values..... McReagan, liberal scoundrel ...
Now back to Mitt, ..... I heard he allowed Ted Kennedy to walk around in a drunken stupor, driving his yacht, all this while Mitt was Governor.
Then Mitt lets JFK Junior kill two young women, flying in the dark without instrument training.
I simply cant vote for Mitt, knowing he did not revoke Ted Kennedy’s driving license, and then let that JFK boy fly in the dark. There, I said it. Mitt is a liberal from Taxachussets.
Sarc off.....
“Why didn’t people who call themselves conservative (e.g., Rush Limbaugh) endorse one of the conservative candidates? Could we have done more to force them to make endorsments?”
Rush aggressively campaigned for Senator Thompson. It wasn’t enough (post #2):

I hear people make the argument that Romney is a great business man... blah blah blah, so he's going to make a great president. He's blown 34 million dollars of his own money and only has a few more delegates than Huckabee. Huckabee has spent a fraction of the money and is still in the race.
Who is the better business man?
Thank God we'll never get to see Romney get eaten alive in the general.
Im still not comfortable with Mitt
Sound like you will get use to Hillery for 8 years!
John McCain motto: Republican by day, Democrat by night
Romney is the true American Capitalist
“So I guess Huckabee and Ronald Reagan were pro Abortion too. Both were Governors, both allowed abortion clinics to run in their states, even though all three were personally opposed abortion. (How many kids dos Romney have? Five? Six? How many did his wife abort?) So I guess your voting for Romney? You support him too? Correct?”
Not correct. Not even coherent.
Well, what can I say? Once in a while, the MSM has to report the news, instead of just making it up.
“People aside, I havent heard much of substance from Huckabee.”
Maybe you aren’t listening:

He has not changed his position on abortion. He's only changed the way he talks about it. He supports overturning Roe v Wade and sending it back to the states. Back to the states, so the liberal states can keep abortion legal.
True conservatives recognize that the right to life is protected by the constitution. It's a federal issue, plan and simple.
Romney's stance is a cop-out.
It will be after Stuper Tuesday....
“The truth is he was afraid to endorse a candidate because he’s a Rudy lover and he knew how that would go over. I’m disgusted with Rush.”
Sean Hannity’s basically a good person, but I feel the same way about him. He and Rush often seem incapable of considering the possibility that they may be wrong.
