Conservative, conservative, conservative. That was the word Mike Huckabee used again and again with reporters to emphasize his credibility as a contender for the Republican nomination...
There has been somewhat of - almost a national media spin that this race is a two-man race, said Huckabee... Last night, the CNN debate was very frustrating for me. There seemed to be an unequal level of time that was allocated, and if people look at the delegate count, one has to have 1,191 delegates in order to be the nominee. So far, no one has even broken a hundred; theres only 8% of the delegates that have yet been tabulated ..."
Continuing, Huckabee questioned Romneys quest to claim the conservative mantle: If people are looking for a true conservative, somebody who hasnt had a recent change of opinion to become one, I would be the logical choice ..."
Although he would have loved to have Arnold Schwarzeneggers endorsement, Huckabee seemed to undermine it by challenging the California governors conservative credentials, and implicitly, McCains.
I would never have expected the governor of California to endorse me and, frankly, Im probably a lot more conservative on a lot more issues than he would have been comfortable with whether its the Second Amendment, or pro-life issue, or marriage amendment issue or any number of things.
Huckabee later said that receiving former Republican candidate Duncan Hunters endorsement last week probably meant more in the conservative hotbed of San Diego than Schwarzeneggers endorsement of McCain.

Pick the one you think you can keep honest.
read the record.
The only person who’s been brainwashed is anybody who seriously believes Huckabee is his own man, when you can practically see John McCain’s hand coming out of him. Christ, the Huckster’s even begun to talk like McCain, “Rrrarrh rarrh rarrh! Romney’s a loser! He’s a horrible person because he made a profit!”
No, he is not.
Yep. I was one of them.
I’m still not comfortable with Mitt
Nor am I.
Beats McCain though. It makes me look to Huckabee reluctantly.
Thats not to say that I endorse him at this point
My first impulse was to say, "No, it's two men and a goat."
But then I wondered if I shouldn't say, "No, it's two goats and a man."
Or, and this is awful to admit, "Maybe it's three goats."
Seems that way down here,,
I agree with Governor Huckabee that Governor Romney is a worse candidate than Senator McCain. A wolf isn’t as bad as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Watch all of this:

“As Ive said before, if Rush wants to stop Senator McCain,
he ought to get behind a real conservative instead of a fake one:”
You can’t honestly say that with conviction. If you can...well all I can say is I am sorry.
We will see what the heartland says
These are politicians.
McCain is working to obliterate the conservatives with his overt hatred of the Reagan Revolution.
Huckabee is working to carpetbag conservatism via his Prolife christian socialist stances. (on top of being a spoiler as a dead end candidate)
Romney is being a capitalist and buying the conservative aliance.
McCain and Huckabee are knifing in the back. Hillary is knifing in the front. Romney at least is trying to “buy” with case.
all politicians, all big boy politics.
Even Hunter has his off days.
Quite a mess. No clear choice.
Agreed
If you want to feel good about something, remind yourself that we defeated Rudy this year!
how many total votes did hunter get? 2000 ? 4000?
He did not even beat Keys in Fl.
You’ve been brain-Rushed.
Going to be interesting,,
“Even Hunter has his off days.”
Congressman Hunter has interacted with both Governor Huckabee and Governor Romney in ways we haven’t. I was trying to keep an open mind about Governor Romney until Congressman Hunter endorsed Governor Huckabee. Now I’m all-in with Governor Huckabee, and I strongly advise anyone who cares about the truth to get on board.
