SUBJECT: COURAGEOUS WORDS
Take a few moments and read this letter. These are strong, powerful and courageous words. Also read what Abraham Lincoln said at the end or the letter. WOW! Thirty-three United States Senators Voted Against English as America's Official Language on June 6, 2007. That same day, Colonel Harry Riley, USA, Ret. Wrote this letter to them. With the election approaching it is even more relevant now than it was then.:
Honorable Senators: Your vote against an amendment to the immigration Bill 1348, seeking to make the English language, America's official language simply astounds me! That you voted this way on the anniversary of D-Day, the day when we honor those that sacrificed their very lifes to secure the bedrock, character and principles of America makes me apoplectic. I can only surmise your vote reflects a loyalty to the illegal aliens flooding across our borders. This letter is to remind you that you are a United States Senators representing the citizens of the United States of America. Your vote reflects a betrayal, and political surrender. It violates your pledge of allegiance and dishonors a historical principle. It rejects patriotism. It borders on traitorous action and, in my opinion, it makes you unfit to serve as a United States Senators Impeachment, recall, or some other appropriate action on the part of the American people is therefore warranted.
Four of you who voted against English as America's official language are presidential candidates: Senator Biden, Senator Clinton, Senator Dodd and Senator Obama.
The following Senators voted against making English the official language of America: Akaka (D-HI) Bayh (D-IN) Biden (D-DE) (wants to be President) Bingaman (D-NM) Boxer (D-CA) Cantwell (D-WA) Clinton (D-NY) (wants to be President) Dayton (D-MN) Dodd (D- MN) (wants to be President) Domenici (R-NM)(coward, protecting his senate seat) Durbin (D-IL) Feingold (D-WI) (not unusual for him) Feinstein (D-CA) Harkin (D-IA) Inouye (D-Hi) Jeffords (I-VT) (jumping Jim) Kennedy - (D-MA) Kerry (D-MA) (tried to be President) Kohl (D-WI) Lautenberg (D-NJ) Leahy (D-VT)Levin (D-MI) Lieberman (I-CT) (how disappointing) Menendez (D-NJ) Mikulski (D-MD) Murray (D-WA) Obama (D-IL) (wants to be President) Reed (D-RI) Reid (D-NV) (Senate Majority Leader) Salazar (D-CO) Sarbanes (D-MD) Schumer (D-NY)
Congressmen who willfully take actions during wartime that damage morale and undermine the military are saboteurs and should be arrested, exiled or hanged.--Abraham Lincoln
Hear, hear!
There's a surprise. Not.
I am reminded of a statement made by Jesus Christ (Mark 3:25):
“A house divided against itself cannot stand.” That certainly goes for language as well.
English is the worldwide language of business and science(except medical..latin has fewer words but more precision). Spanish will never be the worldwide language of business and science because: 1. the vocabulary is too small. English borrows from all languages to give more nuance to the message(nuance is a french word). 2. Spanish averages about 40% more syllables to express the same message as English. Spanish is too slow for business and too limited in expression for science. Here’s an example we’ve all seen. The yellow cones in the airport say “cuidado, piso mohado” (9 syllables)in English, “caution, wet floor(4 syllables). Nuff said.
English is Americas official language. Someone please tell the socialist liberal demoncrates who pander to the ethnic villages that populate our cities are rural towns.
Don’t let Juan McCain hear you talking.

Mitt Romney supported English as the official language in Massachusetts. He acted to end bi-lingual education there.
