You mean if I say "huckleberry", then the substance of the comment is necessarily bad? What if he really is an ignorant hick, and the fastest way to express that belief is through using the fortunate juxtaposition of his name and a famous cartoon character?

Derision is time-honored, and expresses an emotion or thought, and names can communicate an opinion sometimes. Taken too far, as when the word "Nazi" is used to deride anyone who is on the other side of an issue, it harms the argument being made. Sometimes, however, a person called a Nazi verges on fascism--Hillary for example. To call her Hitlery would not be appropriate on a Fox panel, but here, it might show acceptance of her as an agent for "liberal fascism" and would not necessarily mean that the poster is stupid. Maybe the language police are.

Perhaps I was brain damaged at birth, but it seems to me that ANYONE that has considered being the V/P for traitor-Kerry, is NOT a conservative NOR a Republican.

Personally, I don’t think it’s possible for a true patriot to have ever sided with traitor-Kerry. Perhaps over the years, McCain was blinded by a lust for power and desire for revenge.

To me, this speaks to the truth of the man. I ponder, what else has occurred in McCains life that has caused him to give up his integrity?

McCain is no longer fit for duty.

Yes, in effect he was. The Kerry camp informally made it clear to him that they would love to have him, and McCain “pre-declined”.

And what does a Vice President do? He parrots the policy positions of the President. He has no real choice in that.

So John “war hero” McCain was eager to become a mouthpiece for John “Hanoi Jane” Kerry. He would have sold out every principle we hold dear to attain POWER.

That’s way more than you Super Tuesday voters need to know.

Vote Romney, Huckabee people! Save the Republican Party!

I HEARD Kerry audio on Laura Ingraham today saying that McCain’s people had been “very active” in seeking Kerry’s nod. Why ask if you want to say no?

You have nothing to back up your assertion.

I am somewhat partial to McInsane, although McStain is also another standout. McPain, McShame, McAztlain and McVain being other honorable mentions...

OK, I looked at this on youtube and noted that it seemed to cut McCain off in mid-sentence. And in fact, it did. Here is the complete response.
MCCAIN: “John Kerry is a very close friend of mine, and we’ve been friends for years. Obviously I would entertain it... but there is, I see no scenario, no scenario, no scenario, where, I foresee no scenario where that will happen.”

Is he saying he doesn't foresee actually being asked, or doesn't see any scenario where he would accept even if he was asked?

I'm also curious why McCain wouldn't answer something closer to "Don't be ridiculous."
