Very strange.

I checked the web for some info on the school. There is a web site, however, all the pages (other than the home page) seem to be under construction. The school has been open for 7 years.

Sad story and prayers for the kid. It does not sound like an accident.

prayers for this little man. My sons were bullied and it is so hard to watch. They are so innocent and then this cr*p starts to happen.

Bet a couple of other students put him on the hanger as a prank, not realizing it would choke the victim.

It just sounds like a dumb kid stunt.

...an attack or an accident...

Sounds like the idiots in charge didn't get the "Sherlock Holmes Award". Are there any children on record who accidently "fell up"? Mine always fall down.

They really need to outlaw coat hooks in schools. They are soooooo dangerous!

But on a serious side, what a tragedy. Prayers for the boy.

Prayers for the boy and his family.

This is at an AME Church and they have a gym in back. Reports said it happened in a locker room, so it's most likely hazing, but police aren't ruling out other possibilities.

I've worked a couple of elections there. We had considered sending our son to the pre-K care there, but found a better place. The Church has changed since then and apparently the school as well. I always thought it was a private rather than charter school.

This is why my child is authorized to use physical force in any scenario where someone else attempts to hurt him. He also is comforted in knowing that both his parents will back him 100% in such a scenario. If all parents had such a policy, tragedies like this would be rare.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. If you want on/off this list, please freepmail me. The main Homeschool Ping List by DaveLoneRanger handles the homeschool-specific articles. This is becoming a fairly high volume list.

Prayers for this little guy and his family.

It sounds like a prank to me, also. It simply makes no sense that he would be able do this to himself.
