Ann Coulter said on Hannity & Colmes that if John McCain is the GOP candidate for POTUS; she will vote for Hillary Clinton.
His temper is large and he regrets soon after blowing up. He is unstable. I welcome your newness! LOL
And the best proof that America is becoming lost to the conservative cause? FREEPERS RIGHT HERE LOOKING FOR A SOLITARY 'LEADER' TO BRING BACK TRUE CONSERVATISM.
Conservatives are people who already believe in personal responsibility for individual liberty.
You don't need a cult-of-personality and charm to 'LEAD' the country to that....the country must have been raised that way child-by-child, parent-by-parent, family-by-family.
The fact that Freepers are clamoring for a politician or a new party to "create" this widespread sense of responsibility out of thin air indicates we are in bad shape indeed.
Sometimes it means getting much worse to make things better.
I think anyone who prefers Hillary over John McCain should go over to DU where they belong.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
McCain claims credit for the surge, but it is a lie. HIS policy was 250+K troops - not the surge. The surge was more about tactics than big numbers.
And McCain has been awful on the WOT.
When things get bad enough like under Carter the Independents and some of the democrats will put in a Conservative to fix things.
It is not a good argument. It is BS. What branch of service did you serve in?
Conservatives could always write in Ronald Regan....
I didn’t see her on H&C, but I believe she is arguing the same arguments as Rush, he hasn’t gone as far a Ann, but he has clearly stated some reasons not to vote for McCain.
There are several reasons not to vote for him, and vote for Hillary! instead.
1. With McCain in the WH, how are we going to fight against him? Look how tough it’s been with Bush in the WH. With McCain, every far left idea, and every far, far left idea would be on the table, including amnesty, and national health. We will be in a powerless position to fight it.
2. At least with Hillary! in the WH most of the Republicans (with the possible exceptions of true McCain supporters) and certainly conservatives, can band together and fight her. That will revitalize the Conservative Movement.
3. Rush is right (as always) a McCain Presidency will destroy the Republican party (see point #1). Should we participate in that destruction? Or should we remain spectators? Since I didnt see her on H&C I can only speculate, but I think Ann is saying we should not participate in destroying the Republican Party.
You may not agree with any of the three points they’ve put forth and I listed, but they are valid arguments that people of serious thought are kicking around.
None of them have anything to do with 15 minutes of notoriety.
Yeah the only thing different between the two is an R.
You know what? I apologize for any animosity. I am sick of the fact that John McCain is dividing conservatives. I respect everyone on FR even if I disagree.
I will vote how I vote and let it go as that. You do the same. Let’s go with the idea that the Constitution provides that opportunity and call it a day.
At the end of the day, I will have a cigar and a cocktail with any conservative and probably have a decent time.
Amnen to what you said!
This whole thread is pathetic.
Whiners, worse than 2 year olds.
Don't bother telling them that after the 2006 election debacle, when all the conventional wisdom said that support of the Iraq War, let alone the Surge, was political suicide, but McCain still pushed it as others waffled.
That and Senator Coburn's endorsement of McCain has tipped the balance, IMO, that he is better than Romney. Mitt will say anything to try and get elected. McCain took a high-risk path on national security principles to be where he is now.
I don't like my choices. Very few of us do at this point. But I will take someone who took a risk for the right reason against someone who would turn on a dime if doing the right thing presented a potential downside.
Really? You’re sure about that? I’d say that Independents and some democrats couldn’t get enough votes together under those circumstances to do any such thing.
If we are going to get a lib no matter which way we go, better to go with a real, live, and well-known lib than a fake conservative... Besides you just know Bubba's going to be a royal ass for all four years they are there...
I have felt the same way for a couple years now. The only good thing to come from the Dems taking the White House (if we were to survive four years of that) is that hopefully a true Conservative party would emerge. The current line between most Republicans and Democrats is nearly invisible.
Don't blame me; I was a Fred volunteer.
You have lost your mind, Ann.
Even Michael Savage came out against McNasty today, pointing out he ditched three fighters before being shot down in his fourth fighter.
He’s breaking for Mitt, shocked me to the gills.
