Let me preface by saying that I haven't decided whether I will vote for the GOP candidate or not yet, whoever he is. My concern for the troops under a Democratic admin., is the only thing keeping me on the reservation for now. For those in my situation, or who will not vote for any or all of the remaining candidates, I have the perfect write in candidate...Ronald W. Reagan. Don't stay home; get out and vote the under card, and write in Ronnie if you can't pull the lever for a RINO. I know he wouldn't win, but it's better then not voting. Enough votes would send a message to the GOP "leadership". The GOP elite have decided to try and marginalize the Conservatives; staying home will only reinforce that. Stick it back at them and vote for the man that built up the party they are dismantling. You'll be voting Conservative, not GOP. We've been carrying this party for over 2 decades now. 2006 was a wake up call for the party to get back to its Conservative roots. Apparently the elite of the party decided we should go scratch, so they can reach out to more Liberal and Independent voters. I understand expanding the appeal to more moderate voters, but not at the expense of the principles that made the GOP the strong party it once was. I'm not asking those who will vote GOP to change their mind and write in Reagan. As stated above I may still pull the GOP lever myself. I'm asking those that may stay home or skip the top slot to still go out and vote, but write in Ronald Reagan. You'll still have state and local races to vote on. Besides you'll be casting the most Conservative vote of the whole electorate. I'm going to get me a Reagan 08' bumper sticker...even dead he's the best candidate.
If I write a name in it will be Duncan Hunter and Michael Reagan lays out a good case for why.

Same here. At this point, I’m writing in Hunter.
You folks should start a “Let’s All Elect A DemocRat” club. Because that’s what this kind of thinking will do.
I am in Pennsylvania and I am writing in Rick Santorum.
Read my tagline. If there were an actual Republican running this year I would vote for him.
It will most likely be Thompson for me, unless something miraculous happens.
I wish Santorum would move to Michigan and take Carl Levin’s seat, or better yet Gov’ner Jenni’s place.
Interesting how GOP losses are never the fault of the RINOs, it’s always the fault of us filthy conservatives. LOL
Dems_R_Losers, the USA, as you know it, won’t last that long if you wait for a true Conservative before casting a real vote.
Although, if McCain wins I see no difference in the end.
Surrendering to the Communists?
The GOP has come a long way from Reagan to McCain: from a Ferrari to a Yugo.
I was thinking more along the lines of From a Ferrari to a donkey cart.
You should direct that comment to the RNC and the rest of the GOP leadership. They created this mess.
I may still vote GOP, just trying to encourage the ‘stay home’ folks to still vote for something. We’re more likely to vote for nothing then they are(sarc).
Democrats use dead people to vote. Republicans vote FOR dead people? I don’t think so, I’ll just write in Hunter.
Hey write in who you want. I was just throwing Ronnie’s name out there, because of his high name recognition. Enough people writing in the same name, could garner enough votes to send a message. Its better then not voting
Lewis Black actually suggested in one of his rants to elect the corpse of Reagan to the presidency. As the Muslim terrorists are not scared to die, electing a dead man to the highest office in the free world might make them think twice about who they’re dealing with.
My suggestion:
“None of the above.”
But you know... if you really want this movement to work, we have to unify behind one ticket. That way when they count the votes and some fictitious/dead entity like “uncommitted,” “none of the above,” “Ronald Reagan” or “Mickey Mouse” comes out with more votes than either Clinton or McCain... it’ll make ripples.
