Until last night, when I watched the Republican debate, I had no idea how much John McCain dislikes me and just about everybody else but Rudy Giuliani, who if you believe The New York Times is a pretty good hater himself.
As I watched McCain and Governor Romney go at it during the debate at the Reagan Library I was struck by the huge gap that separates McCain -- whose contempt for his fellow humans is patently obvious -- and my dad, Ronald Reagan, who had nothing but the deepest affection and respect for the American people.
The feeling is mutual between McCain and me. I dont like the way he treats people. You get the impression that he thinks everybody is beneath him. He seems to be saying, I was a war hero, and you had damn well better treat me as your superior.
He has contempt for conservatives who he thinks can be duped into thinking hes one of them, despite such blatantly anti-conservative actions as his support for amnesty for illegal immigrants, his opposition to the Bush tax cuts which got the economy rolling again, and his campaign finance bill which skewed the political process and attacked free speech.

RomneyforPres-Ignore Jean. I care about how you vote. I would never pull the lever for Hillary, but I doubt I will ever vote for McCain, either.
Hope you're still in the will after today.

He has had a Napoleon complex since he was denied rank in the Navy, because he was running around on his wife.
The fact that he could never attain the rank of Admiral, like his father and grandfather, turned him to politics and his quest for the White House.
Mentally, McCain is a train wreck.
I love this country and will not vote for McCain.
OH Monk check this out
Now this Michael Reagan dissing John McCain for good reason LOL!
“I hope McCain HATES ME TOO!”
don’t worry, he does.
McLame-Brain is not fit to enter the Reagan library at any time much less as a pretend conservative.
Wow. In this letter I think Michael speaks for thousands of us.
Huckabee is NO CHRISTIAN!
He’s a HUMANIST that twists Scripture to fit his humanistic agenda. He funds it through class envy and SOCIALISM - totally unChristian.
It is shocking that people who claim to be “Christians”, don’t know Biblical teachings. Huckabee is a Clinton/Carter combo.
Yes, HUckabee is a petty little man groveling for a cabinet position or something and to get at Mitt. HUckabee is one of the biggest BGOTS out there. The Huckster knows he can’t win. So he wants to water down the vote and create as much division as possible. Huckabee is a despicable little man. If Huckabee was a decent man, he’d step aside, with draw and let the race be between Mitt and McPain. It is between those two. Ron Paul is hardly worth discussing - he’s NUTS.
I hope McCain HATES ME TOO!
dont worry, he does.
GOOD!
I take that as a compliment.
:)
Michael Medved, who has been shilling for McCain, stated on his show today that both Michael Reagan and Nancy Reagan supported McCain, which should prove that McCain is a true Reagan conservative. Whoops! Maybe he should have talked to Michael Reagan first!
Soon I will have as little in common with the GOP as I do Heavens Gate Cult. Why should I care to join them?
Do you have a link to this piece? This is pretty serious stuff here.
If so, Mclame's running has destroyed it but his ego prevents him from ever realizing this.
If he is the nominee then I too will vote for the democrat only because I don't want the Republican party to be responsible for the nation wide financial debacle which will follow..........
> I think McCain will still hold a grudge about Mike Reagan for what happened 8 years ago! <
I also remember that phone call. McCain was riding in a car, I believe somewhere in Virginia during the primary — the same Virginia primary campaign during which McCain so blatantly dissed Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson.
I rarely listened to Mike in those days, but I happened by chance to be tuned in that night. As I recall, Mike said just before the call that he was giving serious consideration to supporting McCain. Even said some nice things about him.
When McCain came on the phone, Mike asked him a legitimate policy question. McCain immediately exploded and refused to answer. I think it was McCain who hung up without so much as a parting word — rather than Mike’s having cut him off.
IMO McCain is insane. No much more needs to be said.
Correction:
The list of people fellow Republicans mccain doesn't hate would not cover an index card.
AMEN.
“Rush and everyone needs to repent and join the party again.”
Global warming, gang of 14, opposition to Bush tax cuts, no waterboarding KSM, ect...Wouldn’t it be easier just to join the Democrats?
