“You really think John McCain will protect us better than Hillary? After he closes Guantanamo and transfers all those terrorists to U.S. soil and they all get Constitutional rights, forces the CIA to use nothing but nice questions to get information from captured terrorists, and spends more time worrying about global warming than violent jihadists waltzing over the Mexican border into Texas? “

I think you misunderstood me. I think there is no difference between McCain and Hillary. McCain is actually worse, because he will ruin the country and people will blame it on Republicans, not liberal Republicans. I will never, never, never vote for him.

He sounds like Bad-luck Schleprock from the cartoons.

The guy with a black cloud over him at all times.

I think Mike likes the company he is in- I know I do!

Being a true conservative and being hated by the left and RINOs like McCain is like wearing a great big, Cowardly-Lion-like medal of honor! ya gotta KNOW you have it right!

The number five plays a big part in his life. 5 planes lost. 5 years as a POW. The Keating Five. Hopefully Feb. 5 will be just as unlucky for him.

I’d like to know how we were left with this crap fest of a presidential field for conservatives. FRed was our only hope.

I can honestly see myself voting Libertarian this year. Sure it’s a throw away vote for the dems, what the hell is the difference any dammed way....

"Interesting phone call ... it looks like McCain being thin-skinned and seeing himself as a victim of attacks by his fellow Republicans is hardly new. The question is, how will someone in that mindset treat the concerns of the Republican base if he is elected?"

The same way he's been treating us!! He's got the heart of a RAT and uses the term 'maverick' for cover.

Take a look at the legislation he's sponsored with his RAT colony.

Why should he change if we reward him with being President?

I also remember that phone call. McCain was riding in a car, I believe somewhere in Virginia during the primary — the same Virginia primary campaign during which McCain so blatantly dissed Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson.

That was the day that I became convinced that McCain was nuts. I also remember the phone call with Mike...and I remember I kept thinking what balls he had to complain about Bush after the push polling and negative phone campaign he ran in MI against Bush claiming that W hated Catholics. I have 4 sisters living in MI and they all got those calls.

This Republican Party will not get my money or my vote.

If McCain gets the nomination I'll no longer be a Republican.

I have just about had enough. I was originally a Thompson supporter but when he decided to cut and run (and yes, that’s what he did) I took a look and decided that the only one I didn’t actively dislike was Romney. I didn’t agree with him on some issues but I think he is probably a good man. Unlike McCrazy and the Huckster, who I’ll never vote for. Now I find out that FR is supporting the Huckster. Maybe Ron Paul will be next. I’m extremely disappointed in what is going on around here and often think it’d be best if I left for a while. I respect Rush’s opinion more anyway.

While I am not a big fan of Michael I did meet Ronnie on two occasion. The first was a fundraiser for his second (1976) run a President. We wound up sitting at the same table. He was very gracious and made a point of asking everyone several questions about how they thought the country should be run. He then launched into his vision speech and had us all mesmerized. The next was his 1979 run for President and he walked straight over to me and told me how much he appreciated my opinions years before at dinner. I would follow that man into hell.

John McCainiac can go to hell and I will shovel coal on the fires.

Your post reminded me of something I read about John McCain years ago. It was an interview in, I think, “Parade” magazine. I can’t remember exact quotes but I do recall, after reading, that I had the distinct impression that McCain only joined the Navy to impress his Father/Grandfather and that he had a habit of doing rash, reckless things that placed him in danger. I’ve always wondered if doing something stupid, and getting captured, still qualified you as a hero.

I’m sort of a novice when it comes to warfare, but I’m no stranger to waiting for someone away at war. My husband went to Vietnam twice and wasn’t, thankfully, taken prisoner, due no doubt to his intelligence, diligence and overall carefulness. Hubby is now retired and missed no promotions due to fooling around on his wife.

McCain’s war record is not my complaint, however. His voting inconsistency, disrespect to Republican colleagues, seeming mental instability, and HIS AGE, disqualify him as far as I’m concerned. How is a 73 year old man going to run for a second term? I think his decision to run was one of the most selfish decisions I’ve seen a politician make in a long time. Only the Clintoons have the ability to surpass it.

I have noticed most everyone that has your “repent and join the party”, memo never has anything posted on your profile page. Why is that? Just curious don’t you know...

You noticed that too, did you? There's a bunch more out there. Funny...some of them have been members for years but never post. Until now.

Hero, or no, I don’t see that as qualification to run for President. MacArthur ran, too, and he was unsuitable as well. It depends on the person. Look at Ike, he was a superb manager.

McCain has never held a job. He spent time in the military (most of it in prison in a foreign country) and as a politician-—neither of which is outstanding in the way of Presidential experience.

Rush and everyone needs to repent and join the party again.

You'll crawl on your hands and knees and kiss my fat conservative butt before I ever repent and join any party that would have McAin as it's nominee.

You know I am no hero just because I was a Marine who served in Vietnam. I did it because it was what I wanted to do and I am grateful I did not have to experience what McCain went through as a POW. But I don't think McCain should be regarded as a hero just because he was a POW.

As a young boy I met and later as a teen was a friend of a career Marine who was a POW of the Japanese in WWII. He was the commanding officer to my father who also was a career Marine. After both of these men retired from the Marine Corp they both were asked to serve as advisor's to the Laotian Army and Air Force by the U.S. State Dept and we spent 10 years from 1963 to 1973 in Laos (families and all).

I asked my Dad one day why this his friend would not eat rice? My Dad told me that our friend had been a POW and a survivor of the Bataan Death March and rice did not appeal to him. That is all I know about his experience.

Seems to me like good people do not want to burden other people with very bad experiences they may have had.

McCain revels in exploiting his! Not a good person.

Sorry for the rant.

It seems to come from Jack Wheeler's site, To The Point News.

yazdankurd - Do you have Jack's permission to post this piece here? If not, you or your intermediate source is in violation of the membership agreement for that site.

I love your tag and I definitely agree. Romney is the most reasonable choice of the lot. I just cannot, although I have raged about it on occasion, not vote. I have ALWAYS voted and I just can not abandon my country when it needs my vote the most.

Others have given so much more—it is the least I can do.
