I think Jim provides an excellent alternative to not voting in the fall, if by supporting Huckabee we can force a brokered convention.

A brokered convention would be decided by the delegates pledged to the candidates who won them.

It's extremely unlikely that a majority would turn to a candidate who was eliminated early.

Far more likely is a deal to be made from the leading candidate and another with enough votes to put him over the top.

I have a very tough time imagining where the delegates select a Fred Thompson, for example.

The only way that could possibly happen is in a hopeless deadlock involving numerous ballots.

I wouldn’t disagree. If each person remained firm, it might work. I am by no means convinced that it would.

As I sit here now, it’s a last chance Hail Mary. What else is there?
