Sorry. A vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain. A vote for Romney is a vote against McCain.

Better Romney than McCain.

Except that even if you get Romney, he won’t win in November. Florida proved that. He can’t win over the south and he can’t win core conservatives. if it is his name on the November ballot they will just sit at home.

Even if you take a minimum stance that is 5% of the normal “slam dunk” GOP vote, we lost 2000 and 2004 by less votes than that.if we can get someone else at convention we at least still have a chance, going into it with these three clowns is a sure fire loss, even if McCain wins.

A vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain.

Did you pay attention to the Florida exit polls at all?

>> When asked who they would have voted for if their candidate had not been on the Florida ballot, 35 percent of the Huckabee voters said McCain, compared to 26 percent who said Romney. << source

I agree about a vote for Huckabee is a vote FOR McCain. I used to be a Huckabee supporter, but now I woke up and smelled the coffee. The Wed. debate proved what a small man McCain is. Romney isn’t perfect, but he is our only chance to beat McGuiliani. Please don’t waste a vote on Paul and Huckabee. A brokered convention is doubtful because you have all the RINO’s dominating everything.

Agreed... if republicans (and especially Evangelicals) do not understand that the Huckster is never going to receive the GOP nomination, so any vote for him simply splits the votes for Romney and delivers the nomination on a silver platter to McCain, then the GOP will deserve what they get and we conservatives will be left to clean up the mess in future elections, like Regan had to do after the Carter fiasco. please wake up people, its still not too late..

Is a vote for Huckabee a vote for McCain? It depends on which state you’re in.

Several big states, including California and New York, have winner-take-all primaries (at least on the Republican side). In those states, where Huckabee clearly won’t win, the only issue is whether the delegation will be entirely McCain delegates or entirely Romney delegates. If you want to stop McCain, hold your nose and vote for Romney.

A few states, such as Colorado and Tennessee, award delegates proportionally. Huckabee might pick up some delegates without winning the state.

I am with you. Huckabee has no chance of winning now, and I do not believe he has many followers with his flip-flop on amnesty. He joins McCain in too many ways and closing Guantanamo is another one. Think McCain promised Huckabee something to stay in and try to take votes from Romney. Huckabee needs to know that McCain is a great backstabber of real conservatives and moderate comservatives because he is really a liberal. Endorsed by the New York Times says it all! This FredHead voted for Romney over McCain, and hope folks do the same on Super Tuesday!

I have seven good reasons to vote for Huckabee:/s
1.He hates Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney, and loves McCain.
2.He is for amnesty so illegals won’t live in the shadows.
3.He is for closing Guantanamo so terrorists have rights.
4.He likes the government to tell folks how to live healthy and wants a national no smoking ban.
5.He likes to raise taxes on the rich.
6.He promises the death of the IRS but knows it won’t happen.
7.He thinks he has a good chance to be McCain’s VP.

I agree with Huck on the “a vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain” argument. It stinks of desperation. A vote for Huckabee is a vote for Huckabee. Most Huck supporters would go McCain rather than Romney if Huck were to drop. Romney’s vote totals would go up — but McCain’s would go up more.
