It appears that McCain stand a good chance to be the nominee. No, he is not the conservative that some were hoping for, but is he better than Obama or Hillary?
For all the problems that conservatives have had with McCain, he seems to be strong on a number of issues near and dear to conservatives: Health Care, Defense, and Abortion. He is demostrably bad on others; like illegal immigration.
Will you "hold your nose" and vote for him, or is it better to lose this election to a radical leftist to gain the real conservative nominee in the next election? What do FReepers think and why?
Your thoughts would be appreciated here.
Hell no!
NO
No, absolutely not. His economic policies are far too moderate for me.
No.
I won’t vote for McCain, but I’ll vote a straight R ticket for Congress.
I lean “no”. We’ll see.
No.
I’d rather sit back and laugh at a marxist in the white house than cry at ANOTHER limp RINO.
If he is the nominee, who else would we vote for?
What is the difference between a Mchillary presidency, or a HillBilly Presidency?
Don’t trust him!
NO WAY
NO. I was a FreHead, and now support Mitt. But I will NOT vote for McCain, and that is saying something for a lifelong Republican who has not missed voting for a Republican president since I started voting!
A lot would depend on his Veep choice. W picking Cheney was the only reason I could vote for him in 2000. If McCain picks a good running mate, I will probably be able to hold my nose tight enough.
i would hold my nose and vote for him
his American Conservative Union rank is 82 for lifetime and 65 for 2006
HIllary is 9 and 12
Obama is 8 and 8
i dont like him
i did not vote for him in the primary
but i will vote for him in the general as a vote against the opposition
Nope, I’ll hold my nose and vote for Hillary thus giving Conservatives a rallying figure.
Nope, and I have been angry at people who said they will sit at home and not vote. Now I have joined them
No. I’ll vote for Mitt and I’d hold my nose and vote for Huckleberry but I will not vote to place an egomaniacal, mentally unstable whackjob in the highest office in the land.
Nope. Why win an election only to lose our Constitutional rights and national sovergnity?
A vote for mcCain is a double whammy.
