Republicans had better rush to come to grips with the reality that all of our smart options for the 2008 election cycle are already off the table. Unlike past elections, Republicans actually had two very strong conservatives to unite behind in the 2008 primaries, Thompson and Hunter, and they failed to unite behind either of them.
The time to stand up for a true traditional conservative Republican has passed. The chance to do something smart no longer exists. Now we have one last shot and less than one week to do something that is at least half-smart.
John McCain is an Outright Liar
It is no less than Clintonesque to listen to John amnesty McCain call himself the official new leader of the conservative movement in America.
McCain is not being nominated by conservatives. He is being nominated by liberal Independents in open primaries and liberal RINOs in closed primaries. He has very little support among conservatives and he cant win in November as a result.
But more importantly, on the issues facing our nation today, John McCain is no more conservative or Republican than Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. In fact, after more than three decades in Washington DC, his friends are not Washington conservatives, but Washington liberals like Clinton, Obama, Kennedy, Lieberman, Graham and Martinez.

Mitt is not fooling anyone on FR- we all are aware that he is a very recent convert to our conservative principles, HOWEVER, he seems to have the right attitude now, as opposed to the lies and abyssmal positions of our enemy in chief, McCain. We KNOW what a snake he is. McCain will wreck the party if he gets nominated. He will NEVER get elected, all Hillary has to do to send his wild-ass temper into warp speed overdrive is to accuse him of amnesty and it's over. Believe me, it's not just those three bills, it's the latter part of his carrer that he's screwed us too many times.
McCain thinks Ginsberg is an outstanding jurist. Don’t try to tell me he won’t nominate liberals.
McCain has changed his mind just as much as Romney. He even changed his story about why he didn’t support the Bush tax cuts.
None of us here consider him a "true conservative". You need to pay a little more attention and come up to speed before you start telling us all how foolish we are. The only person who doesn't seem to know what's going on here is you.
McNutCase has several screws loose!
Here:
“News media accounts credited McCain with being the primary Republican architect of the deal. McCain, a likely contender for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, had announced weeks earlier that he would vote with the Democrats against adoption of the constitutional option. “....Or maybe you all just want more judges like Ginsberg and Kennedy....”
Or maybe you should check out McCain’s record on judges like Ginsburg. Or, for that matter, Alito.
He sure does.
Time to put this guy in the slammer!

I’m rather upset with Mr. Conservative 101 (as I call him). When the best man in the race needed his support, he was as coy as Scarlet O’Hara. All so he could protect his “independence”. What a load of cow chips!
Now, the only other responsible person for the Republican nomination really needs his support and what does he do? He puts out this drivel and everybody jumps up and down and thinks it’s great.
Thanks for nothing, Rush.
BUMP!
I have voted for every Republican Presidential candidate since Reagan. I will not vote for McCain. This latest debate performance, sleazy robocalls, and last-minute dirty tricks sealed it for me--never mind his liberal positions.
I saw that video on HotAir the other day.
That explains everything that has happened, the GOP wants a Democrat to open the borders, grant amnesty, and initiate national healthcare. Then in 2012, once everyone is stuck with the crappy results, and taxed to death, they can say, We are the good guys, see what those Democrats did?
We are being majorly gamed. I don’t even trust the results from the primaries.
I have had it with the GOP.
Don’t forget that hero McLame and his good Veetnam war hero buddy John Effin Kerry tossed the POW/MIA families overboard so they could open trade with Charlie Manh.
Oh and McLame never met a banker (Charles Keating) who’s crooked bacon he wouldn’t join with a bunch of his democrat buddies (John Glenn, Cranston, DeConcini, and Reigle) to pull out of a fire for the right “contribution”. Campaign finance my @$$.
How did we get here? Too many fake conservatives stealing the oxygen from real conservatives; too much sleaze; too many lies.
I doubt that all the old farts in Florida would have voted as Rush would have asked. You give him too much credit. The American people, IMO, have been brainwashed by Liberal propaganda thanks to the MSM. Jimmah Carter days will certainly return and the mindless will get a dose of reality again. Only this time, we have enemies that want to destroy us. Playing games with our enemies will get us attacked worse than on 9/11. These mindless voters better pray that the attack isn’t in their neighborhoods and that they have their money under their mattresses as the economy tanks. Thanks to mindless moronic Liberals.
Or maybe you all are just blind to the fact that Romney is far more of typical political creature, one who can morph himself over the course of even just one campaign and fool you all into thinking that even a governor from Taxicusetts can be a true conservative. Maybe we should take a look at what Mitt-care is doing to the folks in that state and get real. Conservative my rear.
All the Romney supporters who were sliming Fred Thompson and his wife took it for granted that their savior, Mitt, was going to win the nomination...now, according to Jim Gerahgty at National Review, regarding delegates "That would put things at about McCain at 500+ (needing 1,191 to be the nominee), Romney at 325, Huckabee at 230 or so."
And the posters that are slamming McCain and praising Romney must not have seen this:
Many years of low unemployment and a low interest, too much information, everything has become American idol. Gives the rank and file time to fawn over vanity candidates and pet issues and causes.
When things go to crap, the kiddies will wake up in a panic and come crying for the help their pretty faces, flashy personalities, and marginal fanatics cold not provide. 2012, please hurry.
