Is it time for a draft Newt Gingrich campaign?

I never thought I would ever be saying this. I am no fan of Newt, I really don't like him personally - I think he is a smug and arrogant person. However, I willing to put aside these issues I have about him and support his nomination for the Presidency.
I believe he's basically a conservative, occasionally he says some pretty dumb things, but I think I can trust him to lower taxes, appoint originalist justices, and continue the war on terror.
Is there any way we can force this to the convention floor and nominate Newt for President? He would have the backing of the talk Master, and I think he can unite the various wings of the party together.

The hard part is getting the deadlocked convention...I’m not certain that Gingrich is the ideal compromise candidate either.

I think it is a little too late for demanding perfection.

Newt is the most unattractive Republican ever born.
His mother wouldn't vote for him.

He might be able to unite the various factions of the party but he is not nationally electable. He has too much baggage from the Clinton years. Sadly all those scandals seems to stick to us and the ugly ones (Billary!) skate on responsibility. He is bright and knowledgeable but not electable.

I don’t think so- but I do know this is an awful moment for conservatives.
I want Fred back- with his original team.
