I just cannot see how Paul and his wacky notions have any chance to get the GOP nomination and if he splits off for a 3rd party run, he cannot win.

Please explain how I am wrong without telling me I just have to believe?

Hey, the Constitution won a couple of centuries ago...there’s some possibility that America will reinstate it someday!

“I just cannot see how Paul and his wacky notions have any chance to get the GOP nomination.”

He has no chance of getting the GOP nomination. He’s going for a third party challenge and that’s why he’s still in the race: to raise money and get the free publicity before he walks out of the GOP.

“...if he splits off for a 3rd party run, he cannot win.”

That’s where I don’t entirely agree with you. He doesn’t have a good chance of winning. However, there is enough anger at both the existing major parties that a third party candidate may have a chance of launching a viable third party challenge. If the two candidates are Sen’s Clinton and McCain, their similarities will work against them.

A viable “conservative” third party would give the GOP some badly needed competition and would be a pretty nice consolation prize for this lemon of an election.

He's in the Final Four. Can't be all that wacky, right.
