AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, from behind the golden EIB microphone, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, Maha-Rushie! America's Anchorman, Truth Detector, and Doctor of Democracy. He is the man who runs America. He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do--That's host. Get ready to what you were born to do--That's listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

Rush was comparing the two. And it's OK.

Look, Reagan didn't just appear on the scene with all of his policies in their conservative form as we know them today. He raised taxes in California. I don't know the history/timeline of his social positions - anyone know if Reagan was always pro-life? Economic positions?

Reagan was a Democrat for a long time, for gosh sake.

They came into being over a period of time.

In the same way, Romney may need 4 years to distill his beliefs, act on them,

I was cheering when Rush slapped Brit’s Panel...they cause me to scream at least once every evening. Especially Fred and his constant little promo about the Amnesty Bill which he loved.

Yes, it will probably be 50 softball questions to McCain, and a few “gotcha” questions for everyone else.

They’re looking for people to run for office, but I don’t know if I want the aggravation.

Did you catch Mitt Romney's interview with Sean Hannity yesterday? Romney is reaching out more than anybody else running to conservative voters. I can only hope that his vote counts go up on Tuesday.

I can't vote for candidates that pander. McCain is trying to "reach out" now too. Doesn't mean anything. If these guys had core Conservative beliefs and a record to back it up they wouldn't have to reach out to anyone.

I used to love Rush but these days I’m quite disappointed with him

Me too.

I am not a McCain supporter and Rush's rants are getting as old as an Anna Nicole story on Shep's and Greta's shows.

For some reason, I am thinking more of the saying if you have lemons, then make lemonade. Even you know what ended the era of Soviet communism was the fact that people started to use the early high tech that they were able to get back in the late 80’s. That is what brought the Berlin Wall down.

So the hightech in the end beats out the bearucrats more likely then not.

“Could you see Regan going after fellow Republicans with the kind of bitter vitriol that McCain does?”

Exactly, the hostility toward McCain didn’t materialize from out of nowhere. It is the result of McCain bashing conservatives all his career.

Huckabee wants to be McCain’s VP.

Two reasons I would not vote for that ticket.

Yes, believe it or not, Rush is not all powerful His influence is limited. And although the drive-bys no longer have a monopoly, they still have the biggest megaphone in town.

That’s what Steve & Brian said but Bob insisted that he knew his politics and that those two should just stick to television.

You can see the FredHeads here and predict where they went. Many went to Romney, but others went to McCain, Rudy, Huck and Paul- all based a various pet issues. Since none of the remaining candidates were as complete a package as Fred, voters had to choose the candidate that was closest to their ideals.

I've made the same mistake too, just because of the stance the gals have taken.....and assuming more males were conservative in years past than females. LOL!!
