Why is everyone giving up ... taking this so hard.

This race is Florida for gosh sakes. Super Tuesday is yet to come.

Florida is full of cubans and old people.

I don’t think McCain has it sewed up even if he does win Florida.... He’s certainly not going to blow Mitt away if he does edge out a victory.

I don’t get the pessimism here.

A lot of people probably voted earlier for Thompson. Take Guiliani and Huckabee out and Romney would most likely win. I agree with you, no reason to be down on Florida. It will be a horse race now and those that don’t want McCain are not going to waste their votes for 3rd and 4th place candidates.

That pessimism is an indicator of a frightened political movement. The beginnings of self doubt in a mass of like-minded people. Hunter has failed. Tancredo has failed. Thompson has failed. Those left standing aren't the best, nor the brightest, that the Conservative Republican movement can offer.....and everyone knows it. When an idiot and fraud like a McCain can be seriously considered by hundreds of thousands of "Republicans" to be worthy of the presidency, it reveals a deep sickness and perversion of sorts in the party. This is panic and some folks just let loose with their fears.
