JUDICIAL NOMINATING COUNCIL
In 1975, Governor Dukakis adopted an executive order establishing a judicial nominating commission to screen candidates for judicial vacancies. Since that time, each of Massachusetts’ governors has utilized a nominating commission to appoint judges.
Under Executive Order 445, the judicial nominating commission advises the governor regarding appointments to the appeals court and trial court departments. The commission’s twenty-one members are appointed by the governor and serve at his pleasure. The commission screens applicants and submits a list of three to six candidates to governor. The governor may decline to nominate one of these candidates and request further recommendations from the commission.
The judicial nominating commission is mainly Dems (surprise) and must be approved by the MA legislature.
Exactly! The Mittwitts here don't understand that it is going to take a candidate that can appeal to some of those Democrats and especially to Independents to win in November.
Coincidentally, a friend told me that Chinese New Year will be February 7th; it's the Year of the RAT!!.
I would really like to see a brokered convention which picks Cheney as the candidate. The main point against Cheney was his health, so a solid conservative as VP would be necessary. I think that spot would be perfect for Duncan Hunter so that he gets the national exposure he lacked this year.
The Mittens will refuse to vote for McCain and McCain's supporters will refuse to vote for Romney, so neither of them are capable of winning in November. The sooner we all realize that and adopt a Plan B, the better.
You should not wander in your wondering...I made that quite clear.
The remaining seven candidates are liberal dwarves. I'm completely indifferent.
He said he looked at the internals of the voting and when comparing those who voted over a week ago compared to now, Barak gained over 30 points.
Romney is too afraid to touch the illegal immigration issue. But we can hope that he will change his mind. Otherwise................
yeah ... since the five conservatives are out ... and now Rudy ... I’m leaning towards Huckabee ... the Ron Paul revolution is looking better every day :<0
“Hey, McCain wasnt my favorite either, but I think its civically derelict to not vote for him if he is the GOP nominee.”
I kind of like the idea of being a derelict. Has a nice ring to it. Derelict, yup, that’s me.
Knock it off.
McCain is a RINO. Romney is either a RINO or a recent conservative Republican. NONE of the Candidates is a Reagan which is what we all want.
McCain... pro-amnesty
McCain... anti-gun

McCain... anti-life
McCain... pro-military supported surge
McCain... anti-enhanced interrogation techniques
McCain... married twice. Cheated on first spouse, but has a good relationship with her and kids.

Episcopalian turned Baptist (but never baptized as a Baptist)

What I always wonder is, if they were so great (and I totally respect their war effort), why did their kids go so far south? What happened to the parenting?
Im sick and tired of Freepers blaming ME for Mitt Romney being the conservative choice.
_______________________________________________________
Nobody is blaming you for anything
Dont get hysterical
Romney is not the conservative’s choice
Romney just happens to be one of the FOUR RINOs still in the race
Rudy just dropped out and is endorsing McCain
Conservatives are upset because they are told they must chooce what they may consider the less of 4 evils...
I dont have to choose, but I sympathise with all who do...
Seems like both major political parties are in the process of being razed to the ground and hopefully rebuilt with new faces and PLEASE, some new ideas. 2008 may be the last gasp for the old guard in each party.
Mitt who?
Who are John McCain's enemies? What do you think John McCain would do to his enemies with the power of the IRS, FBI, et al. at his disposal?
If conservatives were to remind John McCain of any debts to them, would he regard them as creditors to be repaid, or pests to be eliminated? I see no value in becoming indebted to John McCain.
I hate to say it but you are right, especially with Huck still in the race as McCain’s stalking horse. As a Thompson fan this was why I was never too hard on Mitt...I knew we could have much worse, which is what we got now.
Whatever McCain was, if he was, he no longer is. The POW thing and the 83 ACU rating were from actions long ago. The McCain we know now is not that man.
I absolutely believe he will sell out on everything, including the war in Iraq, and cave to the Kennedy wing of the Democrats. We will end up with socialism with conservative windowdressing.
I agree with Radix, If Romney doesn’t pull this out I think it’s time to go underground.
Sorry Romney didn’t win tonite.
Thanks for the tagline.
McCain probably surged ahead because he lied about what Mitt said regarding the troop surge. McCain lied enough that many believed that lie. Made is sound as if Mitt was anti-military.
“You blind suckers who support the liberal RINO Romney are the ones who will truly have to suffer with your own consciences.”
Not suffering. Sorry. However, you and your country will suffer with what’s about to hit the fan. Because of you and your ilk.
