The end of the Romney Campaign
World Net Daily ^ | January 29 | Janet Folger

Posted on 01/29/2008 6:40:55 AM PST by no dems

Finally, there is a conservative answer to MoveOn.org: RoeGone.org, as in Roe v. Wade – GONE. Nice, huh? What's even nicer is the ad they're launching to expose Mitt Romney's record. Be looking for secular conservative pundits and compromising pro-lifers to jump the Romney ship soon. No kidding. I predict this thing will signal the end of the Romney campaign.

Unlike the other ads that have been done on Romney that primarily focus on his flip-flops on abortion, marriage, gun control, immigration, taxes, pornography etc., RoeGone.org's ad clearly delineates Romney's record as governor – which is very appropriate since that's exactly what Gov. Romney said we should do. I was there at the debate last week when Romney responded to the flip-flop accusations with the words: "I can point to a very simple way to find out exactly where I stand, and that is look at my record as governor."

Let's do that, shall we?

As governor, Mitt Romney issued an executive order forcing justices of the peace to perform homosexual weddings, or resign. Then he ordered marriage licenses changed to read "party A" and "party B" – instead of "husband" and "wife."

As governor, Romney appointed a board member of the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association to the bench, and appointed more Democrat judges than Republicans.

As governor, Romney authored and signed a mandatory heath insurance plan backed by Ted Kennedy – including taxpayer-funded abortion on demand.

As governor, Romney overruled his own health department and forced Catholic hospitals to distribute the morning after abortion pill.

Homosexual marriage?

Tax-funded abortions?

Catholic hospital morning after pills?

Homosexual activist judges?

"Look at my record as governor."

When do we get Fred back?
***************

I wish we could. We have to make a difficult choice instead

I plan to vote fo Fred next Tuesday here in Illinois. His name will still be on the ballot as I am sure it will be in most of the other 2/5 primary states.

The people who are supporting Myth, and the other “leftovers”, are desperate since FRed and Duncan dropped out. Their desperation has blinded them from the reality of their candidates’ record and RINO stances on the issues, recent conversions, epiphanies, and plagiarisms aside.

What they don’t realize, or won’t admit, is that it’s all for naught. None of these wannabe’s can win against either the power of the beast, or the charisma of the golden tongued socialist.

None of them, NOT ONE, has a moral leg to stand on against the DUmmies, since each of them is but one, insignificant, liberal position away from being a DUmmy them self.

God help us? He did, and we refused His offerings.

I would think an attack on the first amendment and amnesty for 12 million illegals would be at least as bad. Combine that with he was gov. of the most liberal state in the union which means he was going to be forced to compromise on a lot of social issues to get elected and I can understand where he would not be my idea of a conservative . All in all though I think he is better than John McCain.

I have not decided on Romney, but the more McCain and his surrogate Huckabee itch whine and moan over his wealth, sure is not helping them get my vote. (I will NOT vote for McCain ... and Huckabee being his lapdog wearing the Jesus mantel has all but destroyed his credibility.)

It sure is a bit humorous that McCain's CFR was not mindful of a Romney type candidate having their own wealth, as he did not mind one bit making SOROS' wealth a legitimate political buyer.

I think it is disingenious and naive to believe that any politician running for national office will not have a record of being a “flop-flopper.” That is what they do for goodness sake and I defy anyone to find a governor’s record that is fully in accord with their campaign promises as a presidential contender. George Bush, as governor of Texas, certainly kissed up to Bob Bullock on a number of policy issues that had they been national in nature would have made him a “flip flopper” as well. Romeny is smart, has a authentic record of leadership, and by all accounts, is a squeeky clean Mormon. You may not like that last part, but religious bigotry has always been a part of the electoral landscape. In short, Romney, by his record, is heads and shoulders above the other RINO’s. And while he may be a RINO, he is my RINO and much preferable to the witch or the pretty politician without portfolio.

Take Romney out of liberal Massachusetts, and he will be more conservative than Bush by a country mile. Take McCain out of conservative Arizona, and he’ll be more liberal than Hillary by a New York block.

Take Romney out of Liberal Massachusetts and put him in Liberal, "let me see if I can get along" D.C. and hope he doesn't blend in there as he did in Mass? No, thank you.

No McCain means voting Romney in Florida, but I think it will be tough for Romney in Southern states on February 5th and a Huckabee vote would defeat McCain there.

What I want to see is McCain lose every state possible on that day.

I can’t disagree with you that we’re in a mess and the Reagan Revolution is over.

I can’t support McCain because of his open borders arrogance. His Hispanic outreach director is a guy named Juan Hernandez. He has dual citizenship and is a former Mexican official. He has spent years not only arguing that the U.S.-Mexican border is passe, but that Hispanics shouldn’t be expected to assimilate.

These attacks and assertions are old. Nothing new here...

You're correct. It's old dirt. But, it's still dirt, no matter it's age, or how you spin it.

I hear about Romney’s “flip flops”, but have never gotten an answer to this question:

On what issue did he change his mind, THEN CHANGE IT BACK AGAIN at least once?

There is a huge difference between changing your mind on an issue, and being a John Kerry whose positions were harder to nail down than jello on a wall.

This article is just a pro-Huckabee-er spouting off.

Has the Gov collected all his wedding presents yet?

I am amazingly torn by this tattered field of candidates.

Mitt is as slick as BJ Clinton and would do a 180 if there was something in it for him. Now he’s saying the right stuff, but what about when the elections are over? I predict “Governor Mitt” will be back and pandering to the left. We’ll never know when he’ll turn on us, or how far.

McInsane is old, unstable, and terrible on the border and has an unhealthy habit of collaborating with liberals, but at least you know where he stands, and his is at least strong on the WOT.

Huck is consistent and good on social/moral issues, but he is a huge nanny state liberal.

What’s a gal to do? Lord help me, I’m looking for a 3-sided coin this primary, and leave it to God to flip it right.

You hit it exactly right. Politicians must play to the constituants, no matter what their own beliefs are. That is what they are elected to do - deliver what the majority wants. Massachusetts is a totally different ball game than the Midwest.
