The end of the Romney Campaign
World Net Daily ^ | January 29 | Janet Folger

Posted on 01/29/2008 6:40:55 AM PST by no dems

Finally, there is a conservative answer to MoveOn.org: RoeGone.org, as in Roe v. Wade – GONE. Nice, huh? What's even nicer is the ad they're launching to expose Mitt Romney's record. Be looking for secular conservative pundits and compromising pro-lifers to jump the Romney ship soon. No kidding. I predict this thing will signal the end of the Romney campaign.

Unlike the other ads that have been done on Romney that primarily focus on his flip-flops on abortion, marriage, gun control, immigration, taxes, pornography etc., RoeGone.org's ad clearly delineates Romney's record as governor – which is very appropriate since that's exactly what Gov. Romney said we should do. I was there at the debate last week when Romney responded to the flip-flop accusations with the words: "I can point to a very simple way to find out exactly where I stand, and that is look at my record as governor."

Let's do that, shall we?

As governor, Mitt Romney issued an executive order forcing justices of the peace to perform homosexual weddings, or resign. Then he ordered marriage licenses changed to read "party A" and "party B" – instead of "husband" and "wife."

As governor, Romney appointed a board member of the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association to the bench, and appointed more Democrat judges than Republicans.

As governor, Romney authored and signed a mandatory heath insurance plan backed by Ted Kennedy – including taxpayer-funded abortion on demand.

As governor, Romney overruled his own health department and forced Catholic hospitals to distribute the morning after abortion pill.

Homosexual marriage?

Tax-funded abortions?

Catholic hospital morning after pills?

Homosexual activist judges?

"Look at my record as governor."

I’m glad my primary is on March 6th... maybe the choice will be clearer by then and it will be time to focus on beating Hilldog/Osama..

” Take Romney out of liberal Massachusetts, and he will be more conservative than Bush by a country mile.”

Hahaha, Romney is gonna make Gerald Ford and Nelson Rockefeller look right wing. Romney is just campaigning as a sometime conservative because he already knew Giuliani and McCain had the moderate to liberal Republicans.

Come on people, you can be for Romney but don’t try to pass him off as a conservative.

If Romney is bumped and McCain is the nominee, say hello to President Obama or President Hillary. The stupidity of some people is just stunning.

The MSM is nearly silent on Romney because; horror on horror, he is highly electable. I will vote for him in Georgia’s primary.

I think the great majority of GOP voters are squishy on these issues, and that this won’t hurt Mitt a bit.

Ahh, a 'one-issuer' thinks Romney is the Antichrist because he hasn't been 100% correct at all times on her 'one issue'. Yeah, that'll drive conservative support to McQueeg, who's backstabbed conservatives on just about every other issue.

Right.

The GOP will deserve to lose for nominating any of these four stooges.

McCain has been a US Senator forever and he has demonstrated his ability to force his own personal legislation protection racket through Congress and even a Republican President signed them into law.... Now how many of his personal legislative accomplishments outlawed any of the above.

Take Romney out of liberal Massachusetts, and he will be more conservative than Bush by a country mile. Take McCain out of conservative Arizona, and he’ll be more liberal than Hillary by a New York block.

BINGO!!! The BEST political statement of the primary season!

I’m reluctantly leaning towards Romney, because he will probably be no worse than Bush. McCain will be another Alf Landon or Tom Dewey.

He acn be more conservative than GW and still not be conservative enough to suit me. But he is certainly more conservative than John McCain.

Isn't that like saying: I’d take Romney dog crap over McCain cat crap, no contest. Thanks for playing.

The more I learn about these candidates, the more it scares me. No amount of 'nose holding' can justify backing someone with totally un-conservative views/actions, IMO. God help us all. :*(

These attacks and assertions are old. Nothing new here and they are not sticking. Romney has been upfront about his changes and admits his wrongs in the past. He is my 3rd choice and I do not, and cannot expect optimum in such conditions. But he is at least running on a campaign that is now saying the right things (as opposed to the others) and I will give him the benefit of the doubt and the chance to change for the right. I would have preferred more time, but the field is what it is now. If I thought for an instant that he would reverse on Roe v Wade, Immigration, or National security, he would not get my vote...but I believe he has changed and will stick to those guns.

When you are down to 3rd choices you have to pick the one who you think will buy the most time, come as close to the conservative principles as possible, and who can actually stave off the disaster of a Hillery or Obama win. I believe Rommney can do those things so he has my vote, though I would have much preferred Hunter or Thompson.

Protest? It’s the only sensible thing to do. Why contribute to the disintegration of the GOP as a conservative entity.
