This is kinda of sad. His last speech. Had a few tears. I will never forget the 04 election, and the way his was after 9/11.

I was choked up too when he walked in and I thought that this is his last State of the Union speech. Even with things he has done that I have not agreed about, he is still a man of conviction, decency, courage, and honor - and a man worthy of the office of POTUS. This speech is energized!

“Protecting our Nation from the dangers of a new century requires more than good intelligence and a strong military. It also requires changing the conditions that breed resentment and allow extremists to prey on despair. So America is using its influence to build a freer, more hopeful, and more compassionate world. This is a reflection of our national interest and the calling of our conscience. America is opposing genocide in Sudan. [applause] We are supporting freedom in countries from Cuba and Zimbabwe to Belarus and Burma.”

yEP....AND THE 'RATS SIT ON THEIR HANDS. PATHETIC. Now if Bush were to say, "We need to increase welfare payments by 1000%", they'd be dancing in the aisles.

Then they would go out and say he wasn't announcing a big enough increase.

It wasn’t intentional. That just happened to be the frame I caught. I don’t disagree with your take though.
