The last movie I can remember that depicted Catholic priests in a truthful manner was The Exorcist. Granted, the movie was about something (exorcism) that is exceedingly rare, but Father Merrin, Father Karras and Father Dyer were each portrayed heroically.
Did you see the Exorcism of Emily Rose? The priest in that movie was also portrayed in a heroic manner. Even though the possession scenes were very scary and intense, the movie as a whole was very good. I especially liked the ending.
