New York NOW Chapter SLAMS Ted Kennedy for endorsing Hillary's opponent
Times Union ^ | 01/28/2008

The National Organization for Women’s New York chapter issued a scathing reaction to Sen. Ted Kennedy’s endorsement of Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton. Actually, the word “scathing” feels inadequate here.

Read for yourself:

“Women have just experienced the ultimate betrayal. Senator Kennedy’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton’s opponent in the Democratic presidential primary campaign has really hit women hard. Women have forgiven Kennedy, stuck up for him, stood by him, hushed the fact that he was late in his support of Title IX, the ERA, the Family Leave and Medical Act to name a few. Women have buried their anger that his support for the compromises in No Child Left Behind and the Medicare bogus drug benefit brought us the passage of these flawed bills. We have thanked him for his ardent support of many civil rights bills, BUT women are always waiting in the wings.

“And now the greatest betrayal! We are repaid with his abandonment! He’s picked the new guy over us. He’s joined the list of progressive white men who can’t or won’t handle the prospect of a woman president who is Hillary Clinton (they will of course say they support a woman president, just not “this” one). ‘They’ are Howard Dean and Jim Dean (Yup! That’s Howard’s brother) who run DFA (that’s the group and list from the Dean campaign that we women helped start and grow). They are Alternet, Progressive Democrats of America, democrats.com, Kucinich lovers and all the other groups that take women’s money, say they’ll do feminist and women’s rights issues one of these days, and conveniently forget to mention women and children when they talk about poverty or human needs or America’s future or whatever.

“This latest move by Kennedy, is so telling about the status of and respect for women’s rights, women’s voices, women’s equality, women’s authority and our ability – indeed, our obligation - to promote and earn and deserve and elect, unabashedly, a President that is the first woman after centuries of men who ‘know what’s best for us.’”

““Women have just experienced the ultimate betrayal.” [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

You have got to be kidding me. This comes from NOW’s N.Y. chapter and just has to be quoted in full:

To be fair if you throw pig fat into most foods you’ll probably have something good.

I’m confused. Apparently, NOW has changed their minds and now thinks Toady really isn’t a misogynistic rat fart...?

Ah, the secular humanist progressive religion has the concept of

"You are not your own: for you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify NOW with the mouth of your abundant corporate body, and with your spirits, which are Cape Cod's finest."
— (a take-off on 1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

“...one of the leading mashers of his generation...”

Maybe you got at the heart of the problem. Perhaps NOW professes that mashers should stick together...?

[shudder] the visual of those two tomcats howling after women is sickening...

165 posts and no mention of Juanita Broaddrick.

Mrs. Clinton’s husband was credibly accused of raping Juanita. Rather than throw the bum out, she tried to intimidate Juanita. Perhaps NOW could find a better candidate to endorse.

Divisive Triangulation Politics by the a Clinton Wonk...

Who’d a thunk it.

And it’s designed to make a HUGE splash, while disgusting people to the “Politics As Usual” Democrat Party, driving down turnout from “independents”, and Giving the Hillary Controlled Machine a better chance.

Could work...

It supposedly has a confirmation here:

I’ve been to the S.O.W. Site a few times but have yet to see it posted.

Add this to the list of hypocritical trash, alongside “Psychological Gang Bang of Hillary is Proof We Need a Woman President”

One of these KOS Klowns has finally figured it out!

“Karl Rove Would Be Proud (0 / 0)
It’s just another salvo in the ‘scorched-earth’ campaign by the Clintons. It’s deliberate:

Drive a wedge in Democratic demographics, split the party into factions and then curry the ones that will bring home the 51% to win.

Billary knows her core constituency and greatest asset will be the female vote and she’s going to galvanize that group for all she’s got. ESPECIALLY in the Northeast where NH solidified that support; any gains that Barack has been making since then will be neutralized, and by bringing up ‘white males’, she hopes to court minority women (who are not black) and pit:

men v. women, black v. white v. latino. They don’t care. They do whatever it takes.

This may seem over the top, but at the very least it will stall Barack’s rise in the NE part of the country.

Per usual, the Clintons believe the ends justifies the means, even if the party is damaged in the process.

Karl Rove Must Be Proud”

I have no love for Teddy "The Swimmer" Kennedy but am, nevertheless, pleased at what he's done, anything to piss off Bill, Hillary and the Nags.

BTW, if Hillary wins, double-knit pantsuits will be all the rage for the next four years.

Paybacks for John Kennedy Jr.s plane crash...

I thought that, too, the minute I heard the sister of the Handsome Son come out for Obama.

If it turns out Hillary had something to do with JFK Jr.'s plane crash, she can kiss the Dem nomination goodbye and be looking out from a prison cell for the rest of her life.

Please God. We need you. Please do something significant and miraculous here.

Popcorn? Heck, I’ll need a keg of good beer to keep me interested. Notice everything they mentioned is another gov’t sponsored “give away” for the most part.
