New York NOW Chapter SLAMS Ted Kennedy for endorsing Hillary's opponent
Times Union ^ | 01/28/2008

The National Organization for Women’s New York chapter issued a scathing reaction to Sen. Ted Kennedy’s endorsement of Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton. Actually, the word “scathing” feels inadequate here.

Read for yourself:

“Women have just experienced the ultimate betrayal. Senator Kennedy’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton’s opponent in the Democratic presidential primary campaign has really hit women hard. Women have forgiven Kennedy, stuck up for him, stood by him, hushed the fact that he was late in his support of Title IX, the ERA, the Family Leave and Medical Act to name a few. Women have buried their anger that his support for the compromises in No Child Left Behind and the Medicare bogus drug benefit brought us the passage of these flawed bills. We have thanked him for his ardent support of many civil rights bills, BUT women are always waiting in the wings.

“And now the greatest betrayal! We are repaid with his abandonment! He’s picked the new guy over us. He’s joined the list of progressive white men who can’t or won’t handle the prospect of a woman president who is Hillary Clinton (they will of course say they support a woman president, just not “this” one). ‘They’ are Howard Dean and Jim Dean (Yup! That’s Howard’s brother) who run DFA (that’s the group and list from the Dean campaign that we women helped start and grow). They are Alternet, Progressive Democrats of America, democrats.com, Kucinich lovers and all the other groups that take women’s money, say they’ll do feminist and women’s rights issues one of these days, and conveniently forget to mention women and children when they talk about poverty or human needs or America’s future or whatever.

“This latest move by Kennedy, is so telling about the status of and respect for women’s rights, women’s voices, women’s equality, women’s authority and our ability – indeed, our obligation - to promote and earn and deserve and elect, unabashedly, a President that is the first woman after centuries of men who ‘know what’s best for us.’”

Any self respecting woman wouldn’t support Ted, Bill Clinton, or his enabling wife.

Why does NOW care about women?

They’re a homosexual group that supported Clinton and his repeated sexual attacks on women.

Get over it, honey.

I thought we were supposed to vote on issues not gender or race?!

It’s all about their worship of abortion, period.

Yes, BUT those women were heterosexual women, NOW isn't a women's group, it's a homosexual women's group.

Democrats cast their votes not on a person’s character or ability, but on their superficial characteristics. Who cares if the candidate is female, assuming she had the best interests of the country at heart.

For that matter, how many votes does Obama get not on his ability to lead (which one would think takes a modicum of experience) or his character, but on the way he looks?

Kennedy is just pretending to support besmack obsama because he wants to be immune from the backlash that is going to hit the dems when b.o. don’t get on the modaf**kin ticket and instead a real white folk dude like Edwards is VP for hillery.

The dem superdelegates will make sure of that.

Then it will be interesting to see what besmack does. Start a third party with McCain? or someother GOPer?

Surprised they didn’t throw that one in.

"Women have just experienced the ultimate betrayal."

Ha! Perhaps a bigger betrayal of women stems from the concept that the NOW-minded people are trying to convince the drones that the commy beeyotch Hitlery is "the smartest woman in the world".

A side note - I love when the left fights among itself. Dumb vs. dumber...

Isn’t that amazing!

Perhaps the lesbians are annoyed because they know if Mitt were to win the nomination along with Obama - real women will have some hot men to consider.

“LOL. I love it. Now NOW is going to see Kennedy through my prism as well. As a coward who left a woman to drown in 6 feet of water.”

There’s a whole lot of realization dawning on the libs this primary cycle, isn’t there? Their party is just as fragmented as ours, and their pieces may be even harder to put back together by the time Obama’s ego and Hillary’s arrogance are done battling it out.

However, NOW has not made a peep to bring attention to the Muslim abuse of women worldwide.
