Surge in Early Balloting Shifts Florida Races (Rooty's NYC liberals switching voter registrations?)
NY TIMES ^ | January 27, 2008 | ADAM NAGOURNEY

Posted on 01/28/2008 3:53:49 AM PST by Liz

BOCA RATON, Fla. A flood of early ballots from Republican voters, has already exceeded the turnout in the contests in Iowa, NH and Nevada. As of Friday night, nearly 400,000 party Republicans had cast early votes, either in person or by mail......There were 3.8 million Republicans qualified to vote Tuesday. That offers a glimmer of hope to Giuliani's calculated effort to get his supporters to vote early hoping to bank a substantial number of votes before losses in other early states raised questions about his viability and his competitors arrived in the state, driving down his numbers in the polls.

As late as Thursday, Mr. Giuliani was still reminding supporters to vote early, as he has done at almost every stop here this month. “We are already voting, right?” he asked the crowd. Florida is one of 37 states that permit residents to vote early, either with early voting or wide-open absentee voting,.......Giuliani’s supporters and some rivals said his effort to bank early votes could save him from a devastating defeat, even though it may not be enough to bring him victory, and thus serve as a case study of one of the objections to the system.

"Rudy’s people have aggressively worked absentees, particularly in South Florida,” said Sally Bradshaw, who is running Mr. Romney’s campaign here. “They knew Rudy was not strong in the early primary states and they needed people to vote for Rudy before the results came on.”

Perhaps RINO Rooty passed on tips to NYC liberals about switching voter registrations? Stealing the Florida primary might give Giuliani the illusion of a win after his earlier flops...........unless, of course, word gets out that he tipped-off his NYC liberal base about switching voter registrations.

HOW TO STEAL AN ELECTION
Operation Snowbird; Lawyer urges snowbirds to cast their votes in Florida

Palm Beach Post | 9-19-2004 | Mary McLachlin
FR Posted on 09/20/2004 by Chicos_Bail_Bonds

BOCA RATON Lawrence Caplan learned an important political lesson: You can live in one state and vote in another. Caplan, a tax and corporate lawyer, has turned that lesson into Operation: Snowbird, an Internet tool designed to make a difference in the election of 2004 — if Democratic voters in New York and New Jersey respond to it.

All they have to do, according to Caplan's Web site, www.operationsnowbird.com, is switch their registrations to Florida, where their votes are more likely to be needed..... than in the deep "blue" states up north.

Excellent point.

Rooty’ll suck-up to anything for a vote—— but he does the Hyphenate Hustle the best.

How strange to be so scared of Rudy Giuliani at this juncture. I thought he had no chance?

Oh, and congratulations on calling him "Rooty". That's extremely clever. If someone's name is Rudy but you spell it Rooty that's a great put-down. I wish I were sharp enough to think of such brilliant things. "Rooty." LOL. That's hilarious. Really really funny. I can't even type anymore from laughing so hard, that's how hilarious that is.

The Rooty ding-a-lings are flocking to Fla. to give their boy, Rooty, a little boost. That oughta get a Rooty giggle.

This won’t.

Ding-ding-—this is the end of the line, Rooty Tooty Rooty. Get out and take all the ding-a-lings with you.

ID theft could be playing a big part in this scam.

FReeper Calpernia turned us onto the ID theft-voting scam.

What is worse is the snowbirds and halfbacks voting in both states.

I watched a woman and ticked her off royally here in GA who was obviously voting twice. I pointed it out right in front of the check in lady and she did nothing.

But where will John McCain find his crossover Democrats and moderate (left wing) Republicans? Perhaps, there is a silver lining here.

Too late to change registration, IIRC. I think independents are SOL at this point, only allowed to vote on state and local amendments.

Won't stop the multi-state shenanigans. Only audits and prosecution will accomplish that.

Heck - for the Snowbirds - why not cast votes in BOTH states? I think this is quite likely.

I posted this link yesterday, but will repost it in case someone didn’t catch the article. The Tampa Tribune has reported that lots of Dems changed their party affiliation for this primary.

Rudy’s people have aggressively worked absentees..

If you used that statement about anything other than politics, it would sound very bizarre.

We had a lot of ID theft voting in TN in 2006...

Mail fraud voting is too easy

people are not taken of lists when they die and someone can just send in an absentee ballot for them...

Or use fake ID to register and then mail in the ballots

The little ladies who sit in malls to register people dont know if a person is a citizen or not

I asked one one day if she got many people who dont speak English

She smiled and said Oh yes ..

I asked her if they were US citizens since they didnt speak English...

She said thats OK because the Ballots are in all sorts of languages nowadays...

DUH

*** ID theft could be playing a big part in this scam. ***

Doesn't Rooty believe that no one is "illegal". And that if they worked he "wanted them". But since no "illegal" can work without committing some sort of ID theft I guess he condones it. Some 'tough crime fighter' that Rooty is, yes sirreee

btw, I see someone seems to take offense to the word 'Rooty'. So for the easily offended maybe we should call Rooty by his NYPD Undercover Code Name...

Thanks for the link, dawn. Will look for your thread.

BTW, Rudy's not worried about Fla. He's flying in his voters----Rudy knows who his voters are b/c they already voted absentee (/sarc).

GIULIANI BANDWAGON BRANCHES OUT TO ISRAEL
By MAGGIE HABERMAN, NY Post, April 21, 2007

EXCERPT A group of Israelis has launched a grass-roots effort to get people living in the Jewish state who are eligible to vote in the United States to line up behind Rudy Giuliani, it was reported yesterday.

The group, Giuliani Supporters in Israel, was launched by Mordechai Twersky, a onetime candidate for state Assembly in The Bronx in the early 1990s, according the Jerusalem Post. Twersky has established a Web site, giulianisupportersinisrael.org, with background information including Giuliani's famed eviction of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat from a Lincoln Center concert in 1995.

"I did this as a private personal initiative, as a proud American and Israeli citizen, and I am confident that it will catch on," Twersky told the paper. He said the campaign hadn't set up his group, but that he's been in contact with Team Giuliani since he got started.

Giuliani has historically been popular with Jewish voters, and took a hard pro-Israel line when he was in office. Giuliani's campaign didn't return The Post's calls for comment.

In some past elections, planeloads of Israelis with American citizenship have flown to the United States to vote.

I recall that article and thread.
It fried my (blank) then and it still does today.

This duel nationality and voting 'carp' needs to end ASAP. I don't care if its Israelis, Mexicans, Kurds from Iraq or freaking Martians. One cannot be loyal to two countries - PICK ONE dammit. And vote in those elections, period.

And if I was the Secretary of State in Florida (or any state) first I'd try to deny them to be able to cast a vote and disallow all those who did vote. I'd personally throw them in the garbage shredder. Let them see me in court!

And I'd take it all the way to SCOTUS. Dual citizenship and voting my American a$$.
