Xzins may have said some derogatory things in the past on Mormonism (I didn't go through the whole post history to find out), but asking how we (LDS) choose a new leader I think is a perfectly legitimate question.

Some members of the LDS faith, particularly recent converts, would have the same question at this time.

I suggest you visit old FR threads from immediately following the death of JPII. See if there were succession questions.

Not only is asking a succession question of Mormons appropriate, but it is being immediately addressed to the public by the Mormon Church itself, as evidenced here:
