Romney Says He Would Consider Thompson As VP Pick
U.S. News & World Report ^ | Wednesday, January 23, 2008

Fox News' Special Report noted that "in recent days, Thompson's aides promoted him as a vice presidential pick." Romney was the first to weigh in." Asked if Thompson would be on his "shortlist," Romney answered, "Anybody who ran for office in this field is a very strong individual and should be considered as a VP nominee for me or somebody else. He is a terrific and highly capable guy."

I clearly posted the date. I consider it breaking news, what with the apparent "crawl" on CNN saying Fred will endorse Mitt Romney and testimony from a FREEPer who says Bill Kristol said the same on Fox News Sunday today. (no confirmation)

Once your man Bishop Huckster is down for the count and gone, you might open you eyes and discover that anti-Abortionism is only one of several issues that are important to the nation.

Cheney has been pretty instrumental. I think his advice has been invaluable. Depends on the President, I think, as to how useful the office can be.

By the way I saw a MYTH ad on TV touting his strong "RIGHT TO LIFE" credentials.

Yeah, I guess an award by a pro-life organization at the end of his term in Massachusetts and the support of pro-life activists Jim Bopp and Dr. John Willke really says Romney is a closet abortionist. < \sarcasm>

Thompson would be 76 in 2016 and he STILL wouldn’t want to campaign for President. If Romney wants a conservative running mate, Hunter is a better choice. He would be 67 in eight years, and the national exposure would do him good.

I’m afraid the best choice would have to be Condoliza Rice.
This selection would give him the best chance to win against a Hillary/Obama or Obama/Hillary ticket.

Romney Says He Would Consider Thompson As VP Pick Unabashed political philandering

I don't like to say this but, you are an idiot.

You think it is IMPOSSIBLE that Romney would consider THompson for the VP slot.

For the love of God, Grow up.

Unabashed political philandering....

This is being spun...Romney made a generic statement that ANY of those running for President right now, would also be good picks for VP. There is nothing unreasonable or pandering about that statement.

Yeah, but Hunter already endorsed Huckabee.

I understand why Mitt would want him to offset his liberal credentials. I would hope Fred would not consider that. I still believe Fred will be the nominee coming out of a brokered convention.

Mitt liberal credentials? What crap have you been reading? I can guarantee that if Mitt would recommend Thompson for VP that Thompson would consider it a privilege.

Like many of the negative freepers here, you know nothing about Mitt except the lies and garbage you are reading.

Brokered convention. Thompson Romney Ticket. Fred can school him for eight years. Then Mitt can take the office for eight years. Thats twenty four years of Republicans in the White House including George W. Hillary will be alone and in a retirement home. Huma will leave after she loses the election. Bill will be dying from full blown AIDS by then. And people will have forgotten Barak Hussein by then also.

Now that would be a super thing. I have no reason in any way, shape, manner or form to go against Romney. As I stated on another thread, I got over Mormonism many, many, years ago. But Romney is trapped in the culture and would never be able to get out. I think he is very intelligent; intelligent enough to get over on any church leader's directives. Especially the naive arrogant ones. Fred Thompson would help him overcome some of that noise.

Will the Mormon Church take advantage of this PR opportunity? Of course they will. They are proselytizers through and through.

Governors Sanford or Pawlenty come to mind.

Pawlenty the "global warming" governor.

Yep, being that he's a Republican he's just got to be a true conservative flowing with conservative values. /s

Much as I would have liked for Fred to represent us, it looks like it is over, FRiend... :-(

As for Mitt, all kinds of alarm bells go off for me about him. He’s about as constant as a wet noodle, and given his past level of flipfloppery I do believe he would sell anything down the river— including America— if he believed he would benefit.

That is a dangerous road to go down as we go into the next global era. You like W’s kowtowing to the Muzzies for oil? Mark my words, you will have that and more with Mitt, except he will swing wide the doors to the ChiComs where he will complete the sale of America to them.

Oh, prepare for the pretty words in the months ahead. Pro-life? Check. Tough on terror? Check. Strong borders? El-Check-o. Then Katie bar the door if he ever gets into power, because he will betray all of that if he finds it in his best interest. I’ve been right before, and I regret that I am most likely right now, too.

There is no way on earth that Obama would agree to sit at Hitlery’s feet for 4 years.

Well I've never heard of a lying, flip-flopping, gay-loving, culture of death-supporting, gun-grabbing conservative; and since his record is very well documented and demontrates all those attributes I can only draw the conclusion he is a liberal.
