The main threat to Christian symbols, Dawkins argues, does not come from atheists like him but rather from Muslims and members of other faiths.

Wake up alert.
We might be seeing the beginnings of a road to Damascus conversion.
To anyone who has read Pope Benedict's first chapter in "Introduction to Christianity" would see that Dawkin's comparison between cultural Judaism and cultural Christianity would see such a comparison is idiotic. Dawkin's isn't qualified to scrub out the Pope's bedpan.
When the final battle comes, the skeptics will have more to fear from Sharia than the church-going Christians and will be the natural allies of the Christians. My historic heritage is Christianity and the Enlightenment. Why must I be considered a hypocrite because I refuse to renounce my heritage just because Im a skeptic?
I put up a Christmas tree and listen to the Vienna Boys Choir during Christmas because I enjoy doing so. I enjoy the Christmas decorations (creche included). I am incensed that people cant put up a cross along the road where theyve lost a son or that a judge cant post the Ten Commandments in his court. I rejoice that other people can find solace in their religion. Militant atheist give me a pain in the tail. So do fanatics that write me out of society because I doubt the improbable.
The biggest threat to Christian symbols is permitting them to become mere symbols. I know a Muslim family that celebrates ‘Christmas’ as a secular holiday replete with decorated tree, Santa, and presents. Just no Savior in a manger. Frightening.
