Paul warned us about times like this and the way people including those claiming to be professing Christians would act. I strongly believe Paul had in mind the kind of people who run major Protestant denominations like the United Methodist Church.
Today, at an event in Fort Worth, Texas, leaders of the denomination, which boasts membership by President Bush and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, will consider divesting from all companies that do business with Israel.
To say that even considering such an action is hateful, unbiblical, anti-Christian and evil would be an understatement.
It's not even understandable except in the context of the kind of morally blind apostasy described by Paul.
The problem with these people is not that they don't understand the Middle East. It is simply that they are no longer able to tell right from wrong. They are no longer able to distinguish between good and evil. They are no longer able to see the difference between freedom and tyranny. They are no longer able to judge between criminal and victim.
They have, in short, completely lost their moral bearings.
This is no longer a church; it is an organization of misguided political activism. This is no longer a house of God; it is a mad house. This is no longer part of the bride of Christ; it is a whore to the world.
I know these are tough words, for which I am sure to be criticized by some of my Christian friends.
For those pastors leading Methodist churches who understand where your denomination is heading, it's time to pack up and divest yourself of links to the denomination.
It's separation time.

Not a God. He is God. There is only one.
Whatcha think he meant?
He was refering to what He did in the incarnation, not what He did previously. (He was refering to the things they'd seen Him do.)
And that, my friend, is exactly why God doesn't let you or any other person decide who gets to communicate with Him or who get into heaven.
BINGO
Let alone decide who is, and who is not, Christian -
I enjoyed the incense of a Byzantine Catholic Mass several times.
Regarding Catholics in general, the more traditional or orthodox, the more their fidelity; whereas the more trendy and progressive, the more likely they are to become apostate with respect to the core doctrine. This Pope, bless his heart, has a real healthy dose of tradition running through his veins. When he finally overturns the rotten fruits of Vatican II, the Church will be healed.
Don't you hate it when that happens?
The article was written on 25 Jan. Today's the 29th. Does anyone know how the actual vote turned out? Does anyone care?
And you my friend....don't know your bible.
Hear Hear...would that more Catholics voted like the Pope talks.
I most certainly do know my bible, but may not know or agree with yours. Mine isn’t a nicely bound edition with gold embossing and factory highlighted foot notes. Mine is actually comprised of about a hundred different publications in over a dozen modern and ancient languages, and copious notes and letters. I’m pretty sure I know what the authors said and meant. At its core it is a message for the masses. It’s beauty is in its simplicity. I just question the divine inspiration of much of what others added to the words spoken by Christ.
The Word of God, also known as the LOGOS in Greek, or MEMRA in Aramaic, or Dabar(sp?) in Hebrew. Instead of identifying the Word of God with a man made reading text, it is maybe more fruitful to understand some man made texts, which have been inspired by Him, are identifiable with His WORD.
The is only one Word of God, which has always been, and He is not a God of confusion, but a God of the Living.
Perhaps all subsequent words are superfluous.
The Word of God always has been, not to be confused with a human communication scarred by sin. Different languages, even mathematics might be used to express the Word of God, but in order for the believer to understand His Word, one first must have faith alone in Christ alone.
All faith is from God, including doctrine within our mind and heart.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God provides the most immediate access for Him to sanctify our soul and spirit.
One can read 100s of different Bible translations, manuscripts, and Scriptural quotes and never hear the Word of God, while another, through faith alone in Christ alone may read any verse from one of the above and have received the Word of God in his mind, heart, and spirit. This is a work of God the Holy Spirit who is free to sanctify us while we are in fellowship with Him.
The visual perception of a parchment by soulish means is not identical to reading the Word of God through faith in Him.
LOL!!...now that was a eye opener.
Ok, then simply tell me what you think Matthew 7:2-5 meant.
And, I will give you some examples of His desire for us to judge,
1Cor. 6:2-3
Prov. 3:21
John 7:24
Jer. 22:3
Phil. 1:107
Specifically, the Greek term usually translated as judge also refers to condemnation, a specific conclusion of judgment, and hence the text probably states that those who condemn others would be condemned. This is in line with the similar wording in the Sermon on the Plain (Luke 6:17-49). In its context it is an admonition that only the perfect can judge perfection, and therefore it is not to be done by anybody other than God because only God is perfect.
I left the Catholic Church once I reached adulthood- found I had a problem with a group that worshiped the church rather than its Creator.
Left the United Methodist Church after 10 years when I realized what a left wing org. it was, including it’s pro-abortion politics.
Left organized religion for good when I- FINALLY- realized that anything devised by MAN WILL disappoint.
I remain a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ and trust in God always (except when acting like a spoiled child ;) ), and do so IN SPITE of organized religion.
You’re going to want to read this one
With all due respect.....I will dare you....NO, I will bet you...whatever you want to bet...you CAN'T go through one normal day without "judging" someone.
I will leave it at that. Give me a day...and a place. I can't wait to collect.
“Not a God. He is God. There is only one.”
When Jesus was on the cross, and he said, “Father, why hast thou forsaken me?”....
Who was he talking to?
“Where in the world did you get that belief that there are many ways to God?”
Each faith has their own ‘ways’. Their own ‘beliefs’.
what makes you or I so sure ours is the ‘true’ religion?
Jesus was not trying to advance any particular religion.
Can you say that someone of Jewish Faith will not enter heaven?
They don’t even believe that Jesus was The Prophet.
The Bible says they will.
God’s ‘chosen’ people do not practice his ‘chosen’ religion.
Isn’t that odd?
“And you my friend....don’t know your bible.”
So who else would get to ‘judge’ us?
You can’t say JESUS, as it has already been affirmed by ‘proper’ Christians that Jesus and God are the same thing.
Apparently, God has schizophrenia, because Jesus(God) on the cross said, “Father, why hast thou forsaken me?”
